BioWare announced today that Dragon Age II has sold one million copies in less than two weeks. To celebrate this achievement, BioWare is offering Mass Effect 2 for PC free if one purchases Dragon Age II before April 30. To take advantage of this offer, the “Online Pass” that comes with new copies of Dragon Age II must be activated at the BioWare Social Site. Once activated, Mass Effect 2 will be available for download. So if you are one of the people who has yet to play Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age II, here’s the motivation you’ve been waiting for.
This would have worked better if they had offered Mass Effect 1. You can still buy Mass Effect 2 in stores, but good luck finding a copy of Mass Effect 1.
This sort of sounds like an attempt to plead with buyers to buy Dragon Age 2 to boost their bound-to-decline sales, considering the response that DA2 has gotten overall. "Here, buy this poorly thrown together mess and we'll reward you with a free copy of a game that doesn't actually suck!"
since i already have me2, i find this a bit superfluous. However if they'd done an alternate for dead space 2 i'd be more excited since i don't own that yet.
Okay, so this may be a stupid question, but what if i've already used my online pass when I first got the game? Does this mean that I can't get in on this Promo?
EDIT: Sorry, stupid question, for anyone else wondering the same, you don't redeem the code using the normal means, there is a link on the official DA2 website, takes you to

And it even gives us the DLC for it, now I just have to get ME1 lol
I've been waiting for the price to come down a bit before grabbing a copy - free is even better

Instead of the normal code redemption website.
