About this mod
bHaptics Tactsuit integration mod for Boneworks. Many different haptic effects on Vest, Arms and Face including feedback from enemy melee, enemy gunshot, player melee, player gunshot, heartbeat, climbing, fall damage, holster/unholster, slow motion and more.
Everything is configurable in the mod. Check the Configuration below for details.

INSTALLATION
First install MelonLoader and run the game, then install ModThatIsNotMod (Extract it directly in your “STEAM\steamapps\common\BONEWORKS\BONEWORKS” folder.
After that extract the contents of this mod’s zip file inside your “STEAM\steamapps\common\BONEWORKS\BONEWORKS\Mods” directory.
If you are updating from previous version, delete STEAM\steamapps\common\BONEWORKS\BONEWORKS\UserData\MelonPreferences.cfg first.
If you did it correctly, your mods folder should look like this:
If you are getting a "no compatibility layer" error. Install the mod without a mod manager.
DESCRIPTION
This mod communicates with Tactsuit when certain events are detected in Boneworks to give you haptic feedback. It supports Tactot(Haptic Vest for Torso), Tactosy(Haptic Sleeve for Arms) and Tactal(Haptic Face Cushion for HMD)
These are the currently implemented haptic effects:
When player is attacked: (These feedbacks are applied to the angle they come from when possible)
- Melee attacks on player vest, arms, head (10x different effects based on materials, attack type combinations for each body part)
- Gunshot hits on player vest, arms, head (2x different effects based on gun type for each body part)
- Projectile hits on player vest, arms, head
When player is attacking:
- Player melee attack effect on arms (23 different effects based on material pairs and action type combinations, meaning you get a different effect based on the material you are holding and the material you hit it to)
- Player gun shooting effect on arms and kickback effects on vest (6+ different effects based on different gun types).
- Player punch effect on arms (6 different effects based on punched material)
Special Effects:
- Heartbeat effects on the vest when your health is low and very low (2 different effects).
- Player Telekinesis Pull/Catch effect on arms
- Fall damage effect on vest and feet
- Slow Motion heartbeat effect on vest
- Holster and unholster effects on vest and head slots (6 different effects)
- Hitting effect on vest, arms, head for environment collisions (10x different effects based on materials for each body part)
- Climbing effect on arms
- Save spot activation effect on arms/vest
- Gravity Cup and Gravity Plate activation effects on arms
- Power Puncher activation effect on arms and hit kickback effects on vest
- Developer Manipulator Gun Pull and Blast effects on arms/vest
- Slingshot ball pulling effect on arms
CONFIGURATION
This mod comes with settings for the configuration file STEAM\steamapps\common\BONEWORKS\BONEWORKS\UserData\modPrefs.ini under [TactsuitBoneWorks].
Everything in this mod is configurable including some sleep times between feedback plays and intensity of all effects played.
This way, you won’t have to modify the actual feedback files to adjust it for your preferences.
Settings that start with “Intensity” are intensity settings for the various effects.
Settings that start with “SleepDuration” are wait times between playing those effects in a loop.
You can enable Logging by setting it to true. Logs will appear in the MelonLoader debug window or in STEAM\steamapps\common\BONEWORKS\BONEWORKS\Logs folder.
For intensity settings, you can modify them to increase or decrease the intensity of the effect or set it to 0 to disable it if you don’t want it. The values are decimal values, so they act like a percentage increase. For example 0.5 means 50% of the original intensity. 10 means 1000% of the original intensity.
EFFECT CONFIGURATION
This mod uses .tact files which can be designed easily in bHaptics Designer. You can also modify these feedback files that come with the mod. Tact files are in bHaptics folder.
Tact files are named by the effect they are assigned to. For example files starting with "Damage" are run when a damage is done to the player, for example "DamageVestRifle_1.tact" is run when the player gets rifle gunshot on vest. You can add another feedback file for this effect by making a "DamageVestRifle_4.tact" or "DamageVestRifle_other.tact" file and putting it in bHaptics directory. As long as the file starts with "DamageVestRifle_" it will be recognized and when the time comes for the effect to be run, one of the files will be selected randomly.
