About this mod

A mod I made for myself at first and decided to make it public. It rebalances some jobs that were too weak, with news differents effects, cost and damages. Some other moves that were way too strong got nerfed.
Note : this is NOT an overhaul.

Permissions and credits
The mod is available in both English and French description. To install : unzip the mod_p.pak file in :\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\BRAVELY DEFAULT II\Bravely_Default_II\Content\Paks . There should be another huge Bravely_DefaultIIWindowsNoEditor.pak there, you must have both this and the mod_p.pak there in this folder to make the mod work.

Overrall, magic is better during the game and mostly unchanged post game, Godspeed strike and Body Slam are still good moves but carry way less, and passives that would give ridiculous stats are either nerfed or changed. "Weak" jobs received buffs and reworks. Details are below.

PATCHNOTE

Miscellaneous :

- Item : Red Muleta now triggers Vent Fury at the beginning of the battle. CoBT 50 --> 44
- Night and day abilities work both during night and day. This includes : Lunar powered, Solar powered, Night shift and Wish upon a Star.
- Abilities that increases action cooldown of the enemy are nerfed, some more than others. Body slam is the most nerfed one (100 increase cooldown --> 20).
- Cyclops boss has been buffed (a lot). For those who want challenge. Note that if you have already used Examine on him, his usual weaknesses will be displayed. Idk how to fix this but refer to bestiary to see his new resistances etc.

Jobs :

FREELANCER
- (Nerf) Reduced stats boosts from Late Bloomer.


BLACK MAGE
- (Up) Specialty 1 regenerates 20% of maximum MP on Default.
- (Rework, Up) Specialty 2 is now Wild Wizardry : makes attacks ignore magic defence and lowers enemies' MP.


VANGUARD
- (Nerf) Specialty 2 is nerfed on the attack boost (roughly divided by 2). Crit boost unchanged.


MONK
- (Up) Single Minded is now specialty 1.
- (Up) Specialty 2 is now Pierce Defence. Users' attacks ignore physical defence.


BEASTMASTER
- (Rework) Specialty 2 is reworked : everytime the user uses any ability, releases a random captured monster for free.
- (Up) MP saver : 20% --> 25% reduction


THIEF
- (Nerf) Godspeed strike : x4,5 --> x2 multiplier. Damage boost from speed is unchanged.


BERSEKER
- (Up) Vent Fury does not cost MP anymore.
- (Up) Rage and Reason always trigger.
- (Up) Speed stat : E --> D


GAMBLER
- (Up) Specialty 2 luck boost increase : 10% --> 20%.
- (Up) Using Gambling abilities will raise the user's Crit by 15% for 2 turns.
- (Up) Attack stat : D --> A


RANGER
- (Rework) Level 1 ability is now Prey. For 5 turns, every attack will exploit the enemy's weakness.
- (Rework, Up) Killer abilities are replaced with Arrow abilities. Each arrow ability have a 20% chance of inflicting a status ailment on the enemy when exploiting a weakness. Not affected by luck.
It is not possible to cumulate status ailments with these abilities.


DRAGOON KNIGHT
- (Rework) Spirit-crusher deals a x4 attack that increases the user's physical damage by 20% for 4 turns. This is the same buff from the Bard. Costs 20% HP.
- (Nerf) Speed stat : S --> A


SPIRIT MASTER
- (Rework, Up) Purebringer is gone and the Spirit Master has a new passive : Auto-Reraise. Starts the battle with Reraise. Ability costs 1 slot.


SHIELD MASTER
- (Nerf) Speed stat : C --> E


ORACLE
- (Up) Level 13 comp is now Results Guaranteed, same as had the Phantom as specialty 2. This ability costs 2 slots. Therefore, Quickga is gone.


SWORD MASTER
- (Nerf) Fluid Left Style and Fluid Frenzy now needs to deal a critical hit in order to lower enemy's BP at -2 or below.


JUDGEMENT
- (Up) Rampart and Vallation are now at level 1 and 2 and Bulwark and Phalanx at level 3 and 4.
- (Up) Rampart and Vallation now cost 1 BP instead of 30% HP.
- (Up) Bulwark does not increase physical defense anymore. Using the comp will grant the user a Rampart while inflicting damage.
- (Up) Phalanx does not increase magic defense anymore. Using the comp will grant the user a Vallation while inflicting damage.


PHANTOM
- (Rework) Specialty 1 is changed : killing an enemy allows the user to perform another action.
- (Rework, Nerf) Specialty 2 is changed : the user starts the battle with 3 BP, and using Default raises Evasion by 10% for 3 turns.
- (Up) Flit does not cost HP anymore.
- (Up) Recurring Nightmare now bypasses Default. MP cost : 36 --> 20. Slightly increased damages (x1,4 --> x2).
- (Up) Never-ending Nightmare now bypasses Default. Slightly increased damages (x5,5 --> x6).
- (Up) Ethereal Edge is reworked : increases the user's Crit at 100% for 1 turn, and allow them to perform another action right away. This comp costs 111 MP.
- (Up) Attack stat : A --> S


SALVE MAKER
- (Rework) Now has Sloth Hunter at level 11 instead of Analysis.


ARCANIST
- (Rework) Specialty 2 is now High Velocity Spells : increase magical damage by 20% and bypasses immunities and absorbs. This does not affect Humanoïds entities.
- (Up) MP regeneration : 5% --> 7%
- (Up) Speed stat : E --> C


HELLBLADE
- (Nerf) Ultima Sword is not affected by Across the Board anymore.


BRAVEBEARER
- (Rework) Obliterate is now a command ability. Effect is unchanged and does not cost anything. Note it has a weird magic animation but it works.

Miscellaneous :

- The player now has 4 Mark of the Void in the inventory at the start of a new game.

Jobs :

DRAGOON
- (Up) Momentum : weight multiplier boost is increased. x0.02 --> x0.03 per point of weight.
- (Up) Jump now also delays the target's next turn. (100 cooldown)
- (Up) Super Jump now also delays the target's next turn. (100 cooldown)
- (Up) Soul Jump now also delays the target's next turn. (70 cooldown per hit)


BLACK MAGE
- (Nerf) Specialty 1 Regenerative Default : 20% --> 17% MP regen


THIEF
- (Up) Godspeed Strike MP cost : 95 --> 68


BASTION
- (Up) Double Default : 3 turns duration --> 10 turns duration
- New support ability : Impenetrable Defence. When Defaulting, increases the user's physical defence or magic defence by 5% whether is hit by a physical or magical attack for 2 turns. Costs 1 slot.


GAMBLER
- (Rework) Traits 1 and 2 are inverted. Born Lucky increases roulette hits just like before, but replaced the luck bonus by a x2 pg gain bonus.
- (Rework, Up) All or Nothing, now Winning Streak, keeps its effect, adds +20% luck and allow the player to play the wheel again when roulette is not hit. Elemental roulettes also play again. Probability to trigger x15 multiplier on pg/xp/jp : 6% --> 10%.
- (Nerf) Using gambling abilities will raise the user's crit only when having a positive result from the roulette.


MONK
- (Up) Strong strike cost : 18% HP --> None
- (Up) Qiqong waves : x3 multiplier --> x4.5
- (Up) Flying Heel Drop : x4.5 multiplier --> x6
- (Up) Flames of War : x6 multiplier --> x8


PHANTOM
- (Rework) Specialty 2 is now Adrenaline same as the Bravebearer. Defaulting still increases evasion by 10% for 3 turns.


BRAVEBEARER
- (Rework) Specialty 1 is now BP limit up.


BEASTMASTER
- (Rework) Trait 2 increases attack/m.attack/defence/m.defence/restorative.p/speed/aim by 5% at the end of every turn for 10 turns.
- (Rework, Up) Staggering Swipe, renamed Whiplash : action cost reduced from 390 to 150. Action cooldown on the target : 70 > 35. This was already done in the first version of the patch and remains untouched in this one. MP cost : 60
- (Rework) Reworked some job level's skill obtention. Natural Blessing is now lvl 10, Spearhead lvl 3 and Whiplash lvl 15.


PICTOMANCER
- (Rework, Up) Mass production now extends every buffs/debuffs from Artistry on a target for 3 turns. MP cost : 70 --> 98
