Witcher 2, patch 1.1 update

  • Comment
More news from CDProjekt on Patch 1.1 for The Witcher 2.

The good news is that the patch is ready. The bad news is that we have encountered some problems with the server infrastructure, making downloading DLCs impossible. We want to apologize to our fans for not meeting our target of delivering the patch last night. We will update you when we know more.

    Hi Guys
Just to clarify something ,if I purchase a Box\Retail version of TW2 will it still require the huge 9 GB Steam download ,or does that only effect TW2 if it is bought off Steam ?

Nope. Buying retail actually means buying retail for this one. Steam isn't involved unless you bought it through them.

And mine, that can't just be the patch Hector.

So, with DRM being gone, does this mean if I download the patch and install it on an install that I haven't activated, I won't need to activate it?

    It may be....

http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/steam_patch_size_9_281_8_mb/page1 I'm glad I got the GOG version.

Haha, yeah, I was like wtf why in the heck is this taking so long to download? I didn't realize it was 9GB....sheesh.

Troll DLC worked fine for me when I got it before the patch and the game ran incredibly well before it too. Patch hasn't changed anything that I have noticed, maybe a slight increase in FPS but I was already getting 45-60 outdoors, everything on ultra (no DOF, motion blur, SSAO, Ubersampling..just don't like those), 1920x1200. Still likes to CTD a bit...not too annoying though, I can actually play for a few hours now <img class=">

They were saying about another patch on June 2nd...hopefully that will fix up everything else.

I'm not impressed with this patch at all. The game was smooth, now it's choppy. Using the 360s terrible Dpad for signs is a nightmare and I have to use the mouse wheel to scroll through journal entries because you can't do it with the controller any more. The only good thing this patch added was options for inverted controls and that was possible before with a simple ini edit anyway.

I must be one of the lucky ones then. Patch 1.1 went in smooth as silk. I had to manually download it but once I did and installed it, all went well. Can't say I'm noticing any improvement in performance though. At least the troll DLC works, and one very fast email response from the company got the merchant DLC fixed too.

I also have some horrible pop in that I didn't have before. <img class=">

Others appear to have the same problem. http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/experiencing_very_noticeable_pop_in_post_patch

The patch has screwed up 360 gamepads, you can't use the right analogue stick to choose signs anymore and you can't scroll journal entries at all. I was using it because it made the QTEs easier and I kept hitting the windows key when trying to target someone.

so steam may have downloaded/installed corrupt files and its re-downloading basically everything, no wonder my game crashed so often
