About this mod
This mod seeks to bring Warrior Cats to Cattails. Some of you may remember Falcon as being Falconstar and Cattails's predecessor, Warrior Cats: Untold Tales. As much as we love Cattails, wouldn't it be fun to have a Clan of your own? Named warriors, patrols, and Warrior Cats terminology for seasons, times, even kits.

I am replacing each instance of "date" and "dating," with similar, WC-friendly relationship terms. Once you've married the cat of your dreams, you'll have a mating ceremony instead of a wedding and officially become mates.
I've renamed each of the cats to have proper WC names. Jag gets to have a past as a member of the Tribe of Rushing Water, giving him a unique name amongst the others.
I added the official Clan symbols to the available colony emblems. I may also add stones/papers to the outside of the cats' dens that list their specific likes, dislikes, etc. A bit of a cheat, yeah, but you don't have to read it if you don't want to. It's just there if you want to make sure you get the cat of your dreams to love you-- or a cat you despise to hate you right back.
Mines are being replaced by Highstones, and many item descriptions reflect this. The Festival Plaza is Fourtrees, and once I manage to figure out how to actually add four large trees, it'll reflect the name much better. Herbs have been altered to match the herbs in the books.
Dialogue is thoroughly edited to remove all terms about us humans and using "Twoleg" instead. No more hands either, all about paws. No one's an idiot, instead, they're mouse-brained. WC idioms are being scattered throughout as well, such as calling the player character a fox-heart if the player character breaks their heart. Dead prey will be fresh-kill, but not every instance of prey is fresh-kill.
Regarding everyone's favorite beak-wearing doctor, they are still marriageable despite the medicine cat code. I've added a little 'clause' they mention about some aspects of the medicine code being no longer followed. In other words, the medicine cat code is outdated.
I'll be doing my best to add a few custom WC-themed lines to each cat. So far, most of the marriageable cats have special lines. Krampy (or as he's been named, Kestrelbeak), mentions the medicine cat code. He's no longer a doctor, either, instead a medicine cat.
Jag will talk about his past in the Tribe of Rushing Water if your friendship/relationship has progressed far enough. If you've played Cattails, then you know about him and his leader Leo in the Mountain Domain. Leo has been renamed to Stoneteller the few times he's mentioned.
Talon has been made a bit younger, not quite on the brink of retirement-- in other words, definitely not on the way to the elders' den-- but rather one of the senior warriors. He'll have dialogue about being a stout follower of the Warrior Code, along with each mention about squads being patrols instead. He's also the deputy of the Clan, given that he's the one who takes on those duties.
All warrior names are at least somewhat similar to the original name of the cat they've been given to. For example, Zephyr is Zephyrwind, Bob is Bumblefoot, Jag is Jagged Tooth, and Charlotte is Cinderfall. The first letter of their names remains the same to make it a bit easier to remember who's who.
Given the fact that the kits of the "rival marriages" never really grow up despite the passing of time, their names will permanently reflect this. They have been given names like Applekit and Lightkit, and unless Falcon changes how the kits grow (or I've seriously missed something), this isn't going to change. As for your and your mate's kits, their names are obviously up to you.
These are just a few examples of the mortal warriors, and yes, they're all referred to as warriors instead of regular cats or soldiers now. They all follow the Warrior Code, and if you forget what that is, I'll be including either dialogue with Coco as a reminder or etch it into a special stone in camp in the future.
Curios are renamed Twoleg Curios. Items' descriptions are altered.
StarClan has been put right into the center of your cats' daily lives, like dialogue about destiny being StarClan's plans. The Void and Voidling cats are now the Dark Forest and Dark Forest warriors, along with their associated items being Dark Forest-esque.
The Forest Guardian is now the StarClan Guardian. I considered giving them and the Wildwood Champion, who has been renamed the Dark Forest Leader, their own names (Lionstar and Tigerstar), but in the end decided against it. However, I may create an optional file in the future giving them these names instead, if you prefer it. No promises, though.
I may go through the Crystal-Clear Pond (Moonpool) and change the "episodes" to individual, yet recognizable events from the books to avoid the modernized television aspect. Given that this will undoubtedly be a very extensive project, it will not be released very quickly.
In the future, I'll be looking into adding a few NPC's. The art for these NPC's will be custom, and I have plans to make them all marriageable.
All references to Warrior Cats are credited to Erin Hunter, author of the Warrior Cats books. Inspired by both Warrior Cats: Untold Tales and a different WC mod here on Nexus by VerySmashing, Warrior Cats Language Mod at Cattails: Wildwood Story Nexus - Mods and community. Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated in a while, and I took matters into my own paws as both a challenge and because I was, well, bored.
I'd like to say right here, right now: none, and I repeat, NONE of these files came from VerySmashing's mod. None. None. None. This is all my own work and my own rendition of what I think Cattails as Warrior Cats could be like.
PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU FIND ANYTHING I'VE MISSED, PLEASE SEND ME A DM TO LET ME KNOW AND I'LL TRY TO FIX IT ASAP. I WILL NOT BE TRANSLATING TO OTHER LANGUAGES. I DON'T SPEAK ANY LANGUAGE OTHER THAN ENGLISH, AND GOOGLE TRANSLATE IS NOT MY FRIEND.
REGARDING OTHER MODS
I've been contacted by multiple people asking about compatibility with other mods. Regrettably, I'm not sure if/when I'll be able to make WotW compatible with other mods. I'll put it on my to-do list, but I can't make any promises. For now, I'm working on the mod with Darksong to offer info on all the different cats, but that is also its own struggle.
Please do keep in mind that if other mods use human/twoleg language, that's not something I'll be able to dive in and change without express permission from the other mod author. What I did for this mod was go through all the dialogue and descriptions, line by line, to ensure I didn't miss anything (and I still missed things, nobody's perfect). So, since I only changed lines in the base game, nothing in mods will be altered along with this mod's download. I'll see about mod compatibility in the future once my workload is lighter!
Thanks for your support in downloading this mod, I hope you enjoy!
