Valentine's Screen Archery Competition

  • Comment
Another holiday means another screen archery competition! Don’t worry, we plan to expand our competitions over time. But while we’re still getting the hang of these and ensuring we’ve got them nailed, we’d love to hear from you about other competitions or events you’d be interested in.

We’re changing it up a little this time though, there will be no categories, the theme is simply Valentine’s Day. We do ask that you keep your entries SFW, with no graphic nudity or depictions of sexual acts, please.

As always, it doesn’t matter whether you’re a seasoned screen archer or trying this for the first time. Whatever games you play, we’d love to see your creative takes on this romantic time of year.

Only one entry per account, so make sure to choose your image wisely. All the details are listed below, so unleash your imagination and, most importantly, have fun!

As I mentioned above, this time there are no categories, just the general theme of Valentine’s Day. However, we thought it might be helpful to give some prompts to get those ideas going.

Examples might include:

  • A romantic date, think a cute picnic, a candlelit dinner, stargazing, or a day out at the zoo.
  • Gift giving, show the exchange of gifts, be it a heart-shaped box of chocolates or a bouquet of flowers.
  • A tender moment or heartfelt scene, something like a gentle embrace, holding hands, a loving gaze at their significant other.
  • Something abstract, go wild and create something visually striking that symbolises Valentine’s Day. Use lighting to create heart-shaped shadows, or incorporate red and pink lighting, even an artistic interpretation of love.
  • A proposal, the classic down on one knee or something more unconventional.

Ultimately, what you decide to do is up to you, we just can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Post script: This concept was very interesting to me, so I spent the last seven hours creating my submission to the event (though not with desire to win anything--just desire to participate). The submission form, however, was incredibly blind unfriendly *Laughs* (I'm legally blind.)

I couldn't figure out most of the words in the form and couldn't find where the blanks where I was supposed to type anything (both the boxes and background where white, for instance). So I took my best guess at filling out what I could guess.

Are AI upscalers also not able to be used? Gigapixel for example.

I'd also like to know if this is against the rules or not.

Looking forward to seeing the submissions, maybe they'll help fill the unfathomable void of crushing loneliness. Good luck everyone! :)

Crushing loneliness is the way of the universe. We make our fleeting pockets of joy in its midst. :)
