About this mod

Restores the core gameplay mechanic from Crusader Kings II, which allowed players to borrow money from Jewish moneylenders—only to later expel them from the realm to cancel the debt.

Permissions and credits
This mod brings back a beloved gameplay mechanic from Crusader Kings II: borrowing money from Jewish moneylenders. Faithfully (as much as Crusader Kings III allows) adapted from the previous game, the mod allows rulers to take a loan, which applies the modifier "Owes 350 to Jewish Moneylenders," carrying the following effects: parochial opinion -10. Any ruler practicing Christianity, Islam, or Taoism can take out this loan.

To clear the debt, players must repay the 350 gold.

However, for those with more… creative ambitions, there's an alternative: orchestrate a mass expulsion of the Jewish community. This choice cancels the debt and grants access to the lenders' wealth, though it will be long before they return. Taking this route places the "Expelled Jews" modifier on your character and dynasty, imposing a -10% tax penalty, -2 Diplomacy, and the "Arbitrary" trait. Any ruler over the age of 16, who follows Christianity, Islam, or Taoism, and is free can carry out the expulsion.

After 20 years, the Jewish community will forgive past injustices, allowing you to invite them back and lifting the "Expelled Jews" penalty.
