Time to pass of as an architect of the Mont Saint Michel in Normandy, dodge cats thrown in festivals in Flanders or search for traces of Gargantua in the Alps! Or move to Italy to get involved in Corsican Vendetta, fight the King of the Marmots in Piedmont, or escape the ghosts of the Pontine Marshes. Unless you prefer Hispania, where you risk falling in qanats, fleeing from possible shape-shifting witches, or, yes, being charged by escaped bulls in Seville. Or head to the British Isles to chase rolling cheese in Gloucester, visit a uniquely ugly house in Wales or try your hands at Hurling in Scotland.
550+ unique events in total for now, covering the Empires of Francia, Italia, Hispania, Britannia and parts of Byzantium (see map in the pictures).
Fully translated to French, Spanish, German, Russian, Chinese and Korean.
The general principles:
- Have events that refer to specific cultural / geographic / historical features of the duchies the player go through
- Have the events be historically based, but keep things flexible chronology-wise (i.e. a lot of events refer to middle or latte middle-age features even if you can get them from the start date)
- Have the gameplay impacts be rather muted, so they don't disbalance things too much. This is essentially a flavour mod, not a gameplay mod. Expect to gain small amounts of prestige or lifestyle experience, not overpowered items
- Some events give unique items (grey & green quality only). Pimp your court and yourself with a scale model of the Mont Saint Michel, a crown taken from a large Marmot, or a Roman statuette found in the catacombs!
Full disclosure: those events are created with a custom software I've build that uses GPT4 to generate possible event topics and generate drafts of the final events, which are then selected, edited and validated by hand. Translations are done with GPT3.
