    These two shots alone prove what a great shooter you are.

    These shots, like the Night hawk painting below, tell a lot of stories, they feel warm, give a glimpse of everyday life, and let you hear the kind breathing of people.

    Add to that Tom Waits's thick voice, and you can even smell the strong coffee aroma.

    Anyway these works absolutely masterpiece. 
    The time I spend here is more precious than ever.
    Works like this are really rare on Nexus. Respect. Sensei!!! :)

      Thanks. I wanted to do a "Nighthawks at the Diner" set for a long time. I finally got around to it. It's like you said: "a glimpse of everyday life." I'm glad that you could see that and appreciate it.

      Thanks again, Kanami san. Did you have a snack this time? It would have to be a small one for this small post. btw, Chorizo is a spicy Mexican sausage and juevos rancheros (rancher's eggs) is scrambled eggs with red salsa and whatever the cook has available to add to the eggs.

    You had me there, Laird. I was looking at the first shot and thought Hey I remember seeing a famous painting similar to that...

    And then wham! There it is!

      Cool. I'm glad that you made the connection at first glance. That's what I hoped would happen. I suspect that Tom Waits had that in mind also with his song.

    Endorsed this, then meant to come back to comment after I had some sleep annnnd clean forgot.   Anyway, very nicely done.  I remember seeing some of those places still around when I was a wee kitten, plus a lot of "general" type stores like Woolworth's and Rexal Drugs always had a counter and eating area where you could grab something to eat or a milkshake or Coke (my personal favorite was cherry Coke, when Coca Cola was made with real sugar--not high fructose corn syrup --and they used maraschino cherry juice).

      Yeah, I remember those counters in Woolworth's and other drug stores. They were nice. You could also get a burger at most of them. When I travel alone, I often sit at the bar to order dinner rather than take up space at a table. It also gives you a chance to talk to the folks at the bar. I like that.

      Yes, one of my favorite paintings. Could have been Tom's Diner, but it's Chubby Buffalo's where V meets River Ward.

      Yeah, and in a lot of all night diners, the barkeep may have been more curt or even nasty. Tom Waits is unique with a talent and style that kind of creeps up on you eventually, if you pay attention to the message. Glad you liked it.

    This scene brings back memories.
    We had dinners similar to this back in the 60's only the stools had vertical columns on 360-degree swivel allowing kids to face the counter and then spin like a top.
    Great scenes.

      Ah, memories. Glad you liked it. Yes, my favorite bar stool  -- with red seat covers. I like to use them in FO4.
