If you have an issue getting CET to work, go on the discord and post in the support section for CET. #-cet-support
The discussion section and the comment section here are not for posting bugs or troubleshooting. (so the discussion forum was removed, as was the bug report section because we want the bug reports on the github page or on discord)
Again, the comment section is not for bug reports. If you have an issue, come onto the official modding Discord or post a bug report on the github page (CET not working for you is not a bug, that's a support issue and belongs on the discord)
Follow the guide before asking for help on the discord.
If installing via vortex, make sure to use hardlink deployment. Before asking for help, remove all previous installations of CET and manually install the most recent version. Vortex screws up, a lot.
Note: We will only provide support for legitimate updated copies of the game and CET. If you're using an older version, you're on your own.
The game crashes every 10 minutes, I've played several years with the same mods installed but now on this version it keeps crashing. CET works just fine but i'm at my wits end. I've uninstalled the game and put all the updated mods in. On the previous versions it didn't crash every 10 minutes. It's unplayable now. Any help or tips?
This is most likely not caused by CET, but rather by other non-core mods you're using. Please note that CET serves as a core scripting platform for other mods; it does not change anything by itself. The game has changed significantly over the last "several years", and CET follows those changes. Your older mods may not be compatible with the updates. And I'm not just referring to CET-specific mods (there are several mod types). Additionally, some low-quality mods, while seemingly working fine, can cause various (and sometimes severe) issues.
I was having the same issue, especially around Japan Town and the large round-about in City Center. Using Ultra+ with PT21 setting solved my issue, tried PTNext but that gave me the exact same crashes. I still get the odd crash from the intense fights from the gang mods but those are very few.
Obviously doesn't work just fine if keeps crashing lol. Same here though, got the blue screen few mins ago, luckily could recover everything due to precautions set up.
I've been encountering a strange issue and couldn't find any relevant information after quite a bit of research. The modded game runs flawlessly under normal conditions — no crashes, no performance issues. However, the problem arises when I use console commands to add vanilla items (such as clothing or money). Here’s what happens: after adding items via the console (either using Cyber Engine Tweaks directly or through the Simple Menu mod), the game starts exhibiting severe stuttering — but not in the usual way. My framerate remains stable and unaffected, but the game starts experiencing regular, noticeable jerks every second or so, almost like micro-freezes. These persist even after restarting the game, and seem to "stick" to the save, as if the save file itself gets corrupted or degraded somehow. Initially, I assumed it might be related to Simple Menu, so I uninstalled it and used CET commands directly, but the result was the same.
As long as I avoid using the console to spawn vanilla items, everything is fine. But once I do, the stuttering starts and doesn’t go away.Has anyone else experienced this behavior? Could it be related to memory handling, save file size, or an interaction between mods and vanilla item spawning? Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated.
everything is update game (steam), mods, windows, CPU, GPU ...
How can i reset or change the hot key. It has been a while since i played cyberpunk 2077 and I have no idea what hotkey I have set for the overlay, and now I cannot find it. Where can I find what kind of hotkey I have set for CET?? seriously I can't find it anywhere anymore
Go to Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\plugins\cyber_engine_tweaks and delete this file "bindings.json"
Keep in mind, if you choose this method, you are deleting all keybinds that you have/had saved inside the CET/Bindings tab, so you will need to redo all of them.
[ 2 ] Editing the "bindings.json" file. Using any text editor (i.e. Notepad; Notepad++, etc), open up the "bindings.json" file. (found in: Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\plugins\cyber_engine_tweaks) Look for the lines: "cet": { "overlay_key": xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Note: The "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" shown in the code above will show as numbers for you (at least they should). Change this number to zero (aka "0"). Save and close the text editor. You should now once again, get the prompt to set a keybind for CET the next time you launch the game, and your other saved CET-Bindings will be intact.
Just installed the recent/new update (v1.35.1) from the GitHub page; works hella fine with game version 2.21 (Steam/Manual installation).
The previous version (1.35.0) was/is also working fine. I only got wind of the new update from another comment mentioning it below, and thought I'd check it out. Surprised the update hasn't made its way here as of yet.
THANK YOU for the new (v1.35.1) update, maximegmd and everyone who contributed!! \o/ ♥♥♥ :)
When you open the World Map menu, press and hold the left mouse button, you start dragging the map and the menu plays confirmation sounds as your audio feedback - that's absolutely normal and unrelated to any mod. EDIT: if you move your mouse with the left button pressed and the map does not move then it's most likely affected by some other mod, possibly CET or redscript based mod (but not the CET or redscript themselves).
Installed 1.35 - didn't work. Looked through comments, no bindings.json in my folder so I installed 1.34 - didn't work either. Went on github, installed the newest version 1.35.1 and it works - got prompted to set up bindings immediately when my game loaded, the overlay works and mods work too YIPPIE https://github.com/maximegmd/CyberEngineTweaks/releases
Thanks a ton, had to reinstall the game and mods and I've been pulling out what little hair I have trying to figure this one out for the last couple of hours until I caught your comment.

My current "bindings.json" file:

I have a problem when using the console and entering commands, if I try to get the AXOLOTL out with tricks it doesn't let me :c

This still works, the version uploaded to Nexus is out of date.
