When using PT, NPCs will often exhibit shadow clipping as you move close or away from them. You can see an example of this below.
This mod does not truly fix that, but it does a decent job of hiding it.
There are other mods on the Nexus which supposedly do the same, such as NVFLods, but its LOD numbers are set too high, causing additional bugs, as seen below.
My edit takes a conservative approach that hides the issue while not causing any new ones. And as a result, it's less intensive on performance and VRAM. The below video is with my mod.
