Changelogs
Version 1.0
initial release
Patch 2.0 check-in, September 2023: With a total re-work of the weapon tooltip, CD Projekt have finally fixed the icons! This mod is no longer necessary! If you have this mod installed, uninstall it or it will cause the icons to display incorrectly.
The icons for Power and Tech weapon types are swapped, and have been since the game released. I understand that this is a very small issue, and CD Projekt have many, many more pressing bugs to fix - but it's been 15 24 28 30 months since the game went on sale and it took me less than an hour to install Wolvenkit, find the correct file, and test multiple fixes. I honestly thought it would be more difficult than it was.
Installation
Manual Extract the zip file to the base "Cyberpunk 2077" directory, you should get a message that the destination already contains a folder names 'archive' and if you want to merge the folders, click "Yes". That's it.
Very Manual Extract the modPowerTechFix.archive from the zip and place it in the Cyberpunk archive\pc\mod\ directory.
Vortex Works as expected with Vortex, just use the "Vortex' or 'Install with mod manager' button and it should download, install, and activate the mod automatically.
Uninstallation
Manual Delete the modPowerTechFix.archive from the Cyberpunk archive\pc\mod\ directory.
Vortex In Vortex's Mods page, just click the green "enabled" button to disable the mod.
FAQ
Does this mod conflict with other mods? [ CONFLICT ] Simple Gameplay Bug Fixes also fixes these icons, but only in the inventory screen (not vendor or container screens for some reason). [ WORKS ] Limited HUDsays it has an optional setting that fixes these icons but I can't seem to find it (as of LHUD v2.5.1), and doesn't seem to conflict with Power Tech Icon Fix.
What does this mod do, specifically? It changes the base/gameplay/gui/common/icons/atlas_common.inkatlas file in four places. It swaps the clippingRectInUVCoords data of ico_tech and ico_power for both atlas_common.xbm and atlas_common_1080p.xbm. That might sound complicated, but it's literally just copy-paste four lines from one to another.
