The purpose of this mod is to scale and balance the Synlungs stamina regen bonuses to increase the sense of progression/challenge as you level up (rather than installing a +25 per second stamina regen buff at level 15 and never looking back).
BACKGROUND:
The “Stamina Regen” value reported on the character screen is actually representative of the percentage of your total stamina regenerated every second, not the straight stamina points regenerated per second.
So, if you have a stamina regeneration rate of 25 on the character screen, it would take you 4 seconds [100% / 25%] to regenerate your stamina fully.
The way the vanilla Synlung cyberware works is by applying its bonus as a percentage of your current stamina regeneration rate. This means that if you have a stamina regeneration rate of 15%, the legendary version actually only increases your stamina regeneration rate by 3.75% [15% * 25%]. This is a negligible bonus for something that is using up a cyberware slot and costs plenty of eddies to get.
SYNLUNG TWEAKS
The first thing this modification does is to make the stamina regen bonus totally additive. This means that, if the cyberware is such as the example above, your stamina regen rate would actually be 40% [15% + 25%].
SYNLUNG LEVEL SCALING
The second thing this modification does is to provide linear level scaling. The stamina regen rate per player level is configurable in the “userConfig.lua” file. The default values in this mod provide the vanilla bonuses (as an additive percentage) at level 50. Feel free to tweak them to your satisfaction (you may want them lower considering the cyberware is now actually useful)!
