Feel free to use "Change V's native Language" on its own! However, if you plan to combine it with "Cosmopolitan Night City" (which I highly recommend), be sure to download the compatibility patch (from the "Cosmopolitan Night City" modpage).
"Polyglot V" works great by itself, but for the best experience, I recommend pairing it with "Cosmopolitan Night City"! Just don't forget to grab the compatibility patch (from the "Cosmopolitan Night City" modpage).

Cosmopolitan Night city alter the language spoken by many NPCs. In 2077, cyberware allows to translate many languages on the fly. This is the ultimate multilingual experience mod for Cyberpunk 2077 !
Include voice AND lipsync. Featuring Kiroshi translation effect on subtitles. Correct dialogue lenght (no more speech-cutting issues) and correct voiceover mapping (no more misgendered issues).
Offers an immersive multilingual experience with dialogues available in 11 different languages. The mod substantially increases the game's replayability.
For Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty. Supports 11 audio localizations and provides subtitles in 19 languages.
Which edition to choose? Enhanced, Lite or Customable. Or maybe DIY?
Spoiler:
Show
You have four different "editions" to find the right balance.
The "enhanced edition" represents my arbitrary selections. The one I recommend is the most comprehensive. Available on main files. Support all audio localizations and all subtitle languages.
The "lite edition" is a minimalist version. With less main character impacted and probably more lore-accurate. Available on main files. Support english audio localization only and all subtitle languages.
The "customable edition" offers an imperfect (less features & know issues) but fully adaptable option. With some "know-issues": no correct dialogue length and no correct voice over mapping (ie, some lines skip too quickly + some NPCs address masc V using feminine pronouns/variants + there are some missing lines). And without kiroshi translation effect on subtitles...But It's customizable ! Work with a "fomod" for vortex (it's a mod installer, essentially adds an installation menu, allowing users to choose what they want to install or not). So you can choose if you want Jackie speak spanish or english, if Viktor speaks german or english, etc. Customable editions are compatible with all localizations, just use the appropriate file in the miscellaneous files.
The DIY edition; it's not a mod, it's a software I've developed to empower you to create your own personalized edition of "Cosmopolitan Night city" with full features. So it's customizable like the customable edition and it's with all features like Enhanced&Lite editions. But it's not plug&play. More information on the modpage.[actually WIP]
Installation: - Cosmopolitan Night city is very "Vortex friendly" (just turn off auto-convert to redmod function). - Manual install are ok too (but use legacy path, ie : <Cyberpunk 2077>/archive/pc/mod).

==> Instructions for Installing "Cosmopolitan Night City - Customable edition"
This version offers a fully adaptable experience, though it comes with some limitations and known issues (Dialogue lengths may not be accurate, Voice-over mapping is imperfect, Certain lines may be missing, no Kiroshi translation effect, etc). Despite these imperfections, it is highly customizable to suit your preferences!
First, download the Correct Edition, ie Customable edition:
Download the "Cosmopolitan Night City - Customizable Edition" from the miscellaneous files section.
Choose the file that matches your game's audio language Exemple "EN-US" if you're game audio is in english,
or PT-BR if you're game audio is in brazilian portuguese, etc.
Recommended Method (Using a Mod Manager like Vortex):
Click the "Mod manager download" button to download the mod.
Once the download is complete, Vortex will automatically open an installation window.
Follow the prompts to select which characters you want to modify or not.
Each option clearly explains which character will be affected and what language they will speak
Vortex will handle the installation based on your choices, making everything ready to go!
Other method, If you prefer the Manual Installation Method:
Download and extract the mod files.
Copy and paste all the extracted archive files into your game's folder in archive/pc/mod.
To customize which installation, to customize what characters are modified:
If you don't want a character to be changed, delete their archive file(s).
If you want a character to speak the new language, keep their archive file(s).
==> Example with jackie files: #CNC0_MN_Spanish_jackie.archive and #CDT0_MN_Spanish_jackie.archive
#CNC0_MN and #CDT0_MN: These indicate the required game files, depending on whether you have the base game or the expansion. If you have Phantom Liberty, you need the both files. If you have the base game only, you dont need the #CDT0_MN file.
_Spanish : This is the new language Jackie will speak.
About audio localization: - "Cosmopolitan Night city - Enhanced edition" supports the 11 audio localizations (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian, Russian, Chinese). - "Cosmopolitan Night city - Lite edition" supports English audio localization only. - "Cosmopolitan Night city - Customable editions" are compatible with all localizations, just dl the correct file for your audio localization. - How to change audio/voice language ?
About Subtitles: - You can choose your subtitles language in-game [Settings/language]. - 19 languages are available for subtitles : English, French, Italian, German, Spanish - Spain, Arabic, Czech, Hungarian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Latin American Spanish, Thai, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Ukrainian) - You can configure your subtitle options in-game [Settings/Accessibility]. - Players can configure "cinematic" and "overhead subtitles" (Cinematic subtitles display voiceover subtitles at the bottom of the screen, while overhead subtitles display background conversations above NPCs' heads). If "Cinematic subtitles" and "overhead subtitles" are "ON", subtitles will appear for all dialogues. If they are "OFF" subtitles will appear only for dialogue with "Kiroshi translation effect". - You can disable the effect of the "Kiroshi translation effect" if you dont like that, just use Instant Translations mod by yakuzadeso.
Limits, bugs and known-issues: - If a subtitle does not exist in Cyberpunk 2077 "vanilla", it does not exist in "Cosmopolitan Night city" too, sorry! - There are some missing lines that I definitely can't replace. There are very very very few of them. They are muted (but still subtitled). - There are some lines without effect (holocall effect), they are just replace by correct lines without the holocall effect. A fix will probably come later. - If some audio dialogue doesn't work, It may be because of your CPU. In-game option, turn off "spatial audio" might help. - If you find any bug for "Enhanced edition" or "Lite edition", please report in the bugs section. But if you encounter a bug with the "Customable edition", it's probably a "know-issues", so don't bother.
Compatibility: - Using "Cosmopolitan Night city" and "Polyglot V" require a compatibility patch (on CNC modpage, optional files, just use the appropriate file). - Using "Cosmopolitan Night city" and "Change V's native Language" require a compatibility patch (on CNC modpage, optional files, just use the appropriate file).
- Conflicts : Any mod modifying the following files (critical files list) may conflict with "Cosmopolitan Night City". In this case, a compatibility patch will be needed (like Change V's native language and Polyglot V). Or you can prioritize your preferred mod by its name. For exemple about Subtitles : If a mod adds or modifies subtitles using a JSON file that's also edited by CNC, conflicts may occur. In that case, I recommend renaming CNC by replacing the "##" characters with "zz" (and for other CNC files, "#" with "zzz", and ### with "z") . Some translation effects might be lost, but you'll regain access to the other mod's subtitles, which should partially solve the problem! --> Critical files: stringidvariantlengthsreport.json (from all localizations and from base and ep1), xx-xx.lipmap (from all localizations), voiceovermap.json + voiceovermap_1.json + voiceovermap_holocall.json + voiceovermap_helmet.json + voiceovermap_rewinded.json (from all localizations and from base and ep1) and all subtitles files!
Cosmopolitan Night city has addons :
With Change V's native language, you can choose a different language for your V (Brazilian, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish). Include voice and lipsync. Correct dialogu lenght, correct voiceover mapping. Featuring Kiroshi tag for all V's sub. Works with all audio localizations.
With Polyglot V, V speaks his/her native language with most NPCs, but he/she sometimes speaks Japanese with some NPCs (WIP mod - Japanese part is WIP - Spanish part coming later. Japanese NPCs are included). Include voice & lipsync. Featuring Kiroshi translation effect on subtitles and correct dialogue lenght + correct voiceover mapping. Works with all audio localizations.
If you want more, look at "Cosmopolitan Night city Expansion" mods by BONeill. You can find more multilingual NPCs mods, those requested by users but which I didn't want to add to "Cosmopolitan Night city".
Spoiler:
Show
But there are some usage restrictions: - The NPCs from the expansion won’t include the advanced features (like Kiroshi translation effect, correct dialogue lenght, and correct gendered for masc V variant lines). - If it’s a NPC that isn’t modified by Cosmopolitan Night City —as is the case for Panam— the expansions are compatible with all editions of Cosmopolitan Night City (enhanced, lite and customable). - If it’s a NPC already modified by Cosmopolitan Night City Enhanced or Lite —for exemple Viktor for enhanced or Rita for lite—, this expansions are compatible with the customizable edition of CNC only.
