Can cause some issues when mixed with some LOD/draw distance tweaks/mods and with some other crowd mods (such as flickering NPCs in Photo Mode)... The higher density addons may also cause these issues by themselves on some hardware setups...

What all does this do (main files)?

In short, it makes NPCs appear more lively/intelligent by reducing the broken AI (similar effect as NC Ambient NPCs, but they increased AI stuff where I decreased it, so this should result in better performance compared to that mod)... The main version of the mod should also slightly improve performance (as well as the "Density Performance Menu" or the reduced density addons)

In detail it does the following:

Crowds:
  • NPCs stop more to interact with objects in the world
  • NPCs spawn farther away and are less likely to spawn in view (still happens, though)
  • NPCs are less likely to change direction randomly
  • NPCs spread out more (less single file lines)
  • NPCS walk a lot longer, with more varied paths
  • NPCS are more likely to look at you as you walk by them

Traffic:
  • Increased density slightly (it's still possible to drive...lol)
  • Traffic is more varied
  • Traffic is less likely to stop in the middle of the road for no apparent reason (still happens occasionally, though)
  • Traffic moves faster (check "Optional Files" for version without this speedup)
  • Traffic spreads out more

Installation:

Uninstallation:
  • Delete the file named "PsychoCrowds.ini" from [Cyberpunk 2077>engine>config>platform>pc]
  • For the CET Density Performance menu addon, delete the file from your [CP77>bin>x64>plugins>CET>mods] folder
  • For the density addons (in the "Optional" files), delete the file from your [CP77>archive>pc>mod] folder

Known Issues:
  • Can cause some weirdness such as flickering NPCs if your PC can't handle it... To resolve this, try setting Crowd Density lower in the game's settings... This is unlikely to occur unless you mix other mods that edit NPC behavior or enhance draw distances/LODs (this is why I suggested to not combine with these types of mods/tweaks)...
  • For information about compatibility with other mods, check the "Bugs" tab (and maybe the "Posts")... The only mods this should conflict with are other NPC behavior ini tweaks...
  • Occasionally (rarely) may see an NPC/vehicle spawn in front of you... Doesn't happen often enough to bother me, but if it bothers you, increase the "AppropriateMinDistToPlayer" line in the [Crowds] section of the main file (I'd try increasing by 2.0-4.0 at a time until the issue is resolved to your liking)...
  • Extremely rarely, you may see 2 or more NPCs spawned and standing on the same exact spot... This only ever happens right as you load into a game, and as stated is extremely rare... I think this may even happen in vanilla, but it's so rare that I don't want to test vanilla long enough to find out for sure...

Version History:

1.0 - Initial Release
2.0 - Fixed stuff and reduced performance cost
3.0 - Longer, more varied paths. LookAt values increased. Object detection increased. Performance cost further reduced.
3.1 - Removed entries that were at vanilla values... This will help resolve potential conflicts with other tweaks/mods...
3.2 - Replaced a couple defunct entries with the newer game version 1.62 entries (this won't affect much)... Also changed a few values to hopefully reduce cloned NPCs a bit more...
3.3.0-a - Tweaked some crowd behavior values to make them feel a bit smarter... Also tweaked some other values to offset the performance impact of the behavior tweaks... It's possible that this version will result in better performance and immersion...
