The main reason I posted this was less about the exact frames you get with each (cause that'll vary depending on your hardware and other settings) but more to compare the options' performance impact to each other.
While I'm grateful for those benchmarks I#m wondering about the purpose of doing them with on auto. Given internal fluctuations, the results are not entirely comparable as they might be done at different rendering resolutions.
From what I can tell with a 4090, 'auto' DLSS seems to be no different to 'performance' setting at any place on the map I have tested. Annoying, because I'd like it to use higher settings when necessary to stop it hitting the 120hz display max where it induces juddering.
A big tip, never set the DLSS to Auto, always use the correct quality setting based on your resolution. Considering you're using 4K with frame gen, setting it to Quality or Balanced should be fine. Setting it to auto could cause it to automatically choose Performance since nvidia kinda suck at differentiating between how you use their tech. If you're on 4K it will always go straight to ultra performance mode.
Yes! Works great for me too. It seems that FPS has become even higher than with the mod (well, or rr is doing its job), but the truth is that the reflections of NPCs in glass surfaces are a little buggy (I didn't pay attention to whether this problem was present with the mod). In any case, thank you very much, the method works quite well. And I was already desperate and thought that I would have to play the DLC without path tracing. (if there are errors in the text, then sorry, this is not my native language:-)
To avoid reflection issues put 1 bounce and 2 ray Almost same quality as vanilla (2 bounce and 2 ray) and huge perf improvment ! Also with RR it's even better :)
@MattLad1911 Thanks! I was just asking if I could get away with the ini tweak instead of the archive and those numbers were not meant literal. However, this is something you couldn't have known of course :-)
У меня в консоле постоянно пишет Failed to find game option 'RayTracing/Reference/EnableRIS'! Failed to find game option 'RayTracing/EnableNRD'! Раз за разом Что не так сделал то?
Has anyone tried the mod with the new 2.1 version? Seems like it doesn't work anymore on my side, could be due to the changes they made to the path tracing pipeline (ReStir GI added etc.)
Yup, that's exactly why, with ReStir bounces and rays don't make any difference, if you want to revert back, modder SammiLucia is working on it on her Ultra Plus Pathtracing mod, ie. to revert back to ReBlur/ReLax to allow for custom bounces and rays.
hey man! Saw this video that use edited bounces and rays and it's by far the most photorealistic graphics I've seen for Cyberpunk. https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/1742qh4/cool_way_to_dismiss_unwanted_vehicles/
Sick mod, can actually enjoy full RT on a decent resolution with RTX 3080.
On the default settings (2B2R) had to play on 1440p performance DLSS (which looked kinda trash due to pixelisation), now on 1B2R I can actually use DLSS balanced 1440p and while the lighting looks pretty much the same the game overall looks a lot better and also performance is slightly better.
Ahhh i didn't know it could be done just with an ini file, thanks for the heads up! and thank you for all the effort you've put into the mod so far, i used it for months when path tracing came out
if you are on 1440p with DLSS quality, try DLSS balanced with 2B3R. The performance is basically identical but it looks much better. Or go for 2B4R, it's even better but does have a small hit on performance.
I'm wondering if on an RTX 6090 something like 16R16B would be feasible and also how the image quality would be improved by this. I will come back to test this in a few years :-D

Oh, and the info is brilliant - many thanks for taking the time to research and post the data.

I'm using Preem Optics, anyone else having this issue?
Over 60fps now with DLSS and looking better than RT Psycho. (3440x1440)
will add
EDIT
its in testing incremental bounce increase (did that folder for a testing video I'm making)
will also add to main folder to avoid confusion
