This mod overhauls the cities of the Iliac Bay. Currently the mod:
Varies city layouts, giving them randomly-generated, usually non-rectangular shapes.
Adds navigable main streets.
Removes residential and repeated service blocks, making cities somewhat smaller and denser.
Adds farms, cropfields, and Kamer's windmills to the city outskirts.
Known compatibility issues: Because this mod changes city layouts, it works best with new games. You can probably get it working fine with your current games by deleting AutomapData.txt and DiscoveryData.txt in your savegame files (though note that you'll lose all your discovered locations). You may have to temporarily disable the mod to complete ongoing quests.
Beautiful Cities is currently only partially compatible with Detailed City Walls. DCW will still affect Daggerfall, Wayrest, and Sentinel, but not other cities. Full DCW compatibility is planned for a future update. Beautiful Cities is compatible with Harvestable Crops, but the large cropfields outside of cities cannot be harvested. This is because these fields can contain as many as 10,000 crops. These require special handling for performance reason.
Beautiful Cities currently is currently only partially compatible with Cities Overhauled, Lively Cities, and Taverns Redone. I'll be working with the mod authors on compatibility patches for each of these mods in the near future.
Performance issues:
If you are getting long loading times and low framerates, that's because of the huge cropfields this mod adds around cities. You can now adjust the Crop Density slider to the RMB Resource Pack's mod settings. Try setting it to 5 or 6. This will greatly decrease the number of billboards in the cropfields BCoD adds around the cities and should dramatically lower loading times and framerate drops.
