About this mod
A SAFE PvP Mule for Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin. This file should be completely safe for you to use online, so long as you don't do anything else against the game data. Play DS2 your own way!
- Permissions and credits
It is missing a couple items only, namely: Steel Chest and Leggings, Judgment Set, and the Curved Twinblade.
Basic Install guide:
1. Download the save file and put it somewhere, whether that's sitting in downloads or your desktop, somewhere it's easy to access and move. You can also make a DS2 mod folder and put it in there alongside other things. I like to have a fresh save loaded with mules incase I want to start fresh and don't have to come to Nexus to get it again. Or, just copy it.
2. Launch cleanly installed version of DS2, or one with no characters. Make a new character and quit to the main menu.
3. Go to your character select screen, you should have one level 1 character with no name sitting in here.
4. Tab out.
5. Now to find your DS2 save data. C drive>Users>User>AppData>Roaming>DS2>A bunch of numbers. You should only have one, but if you have more, an easy way to tell which is which is either by when the folder was last edited, or when the DS2 save file was last changed. Just check the date and time, and you should have no issue figuring out which is which if you have more than one save file.
6. Paste and replace DS2SOFS0000.sl2, or drag and drop the modded file over it and replace it. Either way, you are replacing the barebones save with the mule.
7. Tab back into the game. Try and load the level 1 character, it will fail, this is okay. We want that to happen.
8. Your new characters should now be registered, but we can't launch them from here. You want to quit out of that menu and start a new game. You should be forced to overwrite a character. Overwrite the very top one. This character will not be a mule, but this is necessary to fooling the game into thinking the rest of your characters are legit.
9. You're done! Quit back out and go to the character select screen, the mules are waiting for you.
All of those other characters have just shy of every item in the game, many copies of each, many copies of every spell spiced down to 10, and basically everything but key items. You will need to get some of that stuff yourself, but with every bonfire and maxxed out weapons, it should be very easy. The reason for this is because the game can be a stickler about key items and progress, and to be as safe as possible from bans, questionable things are not included in the mule.
To reiterate, this mule is the safest one on Nexus, the original PVP Mule had unsafe items, and the updated one tried to fix it, and mostly succeeded but also had a few illegal items. This Mule has nothing that will trigger Bamco to ban your ass in ANY capacity by itself. I can personally confirm if you use nothing but this mule, and then return several months later, you should be completely fine (because I have done precisely that).
