CLEAN HUD
I always found myself getting annoyed by the HUD in DS2. The cap on the end of your HP bar as you hollow can sometimes obstruct the exact delineation point where your health is. I often wished I could just trim things down, so I did!
If you also found the HUD in this game to be just a little to busy for your tastes, but want to preserve the original aesthetic, this is the mod for you! I did my best to maintain a style that is consistent with Clean UI using assets that already existed in Dark Souls 2's files while drawing inspiration from the more minimal UI of Elden Ring. I also added an option that does not draw inspiration from Elden Ring, and only trims down the original HUD.
Installation instructions:
- Install the latest version of DS2LightingEngine SotFS.
- Install Clean UI and Bloodborne Reticle Enhanced for DS2LE Version 1.3 (Updated for compatibility with this mod on 08/04/2023).
- Extract the rar you downloaded from this mod into your tex_override folder. Overwrite files when prompted to do so.
To uninstall, simply delete the files from your tex_override folder.
I recommend using this with my other mod, DS3 HD Icons Port Expanded for DS2LE for maximum UI quality.
11/14/2023 Update & UI Scaling:
DS2LE now has now implemented a feature to change the size and position of the UI. Press F1 to enter this menu. To get the recommended experience demonstrated in the screenshots in the images section of the mod, refer to the UI Customization settings that I have provided in a new screenshot there. Don't forget to save your user settings when you are done. Feel free to experiment and tweak the settings to your liking, of course. Shout out to Ganaboy for continuing to work hard to bring us all amazing new features like this!
Compatibility:
If you want to install this with Scholar of the Second Sin Texture Overhaul and TriviaTex (which I highly recommend!):
- Install DS2LightingEngine SotFS.
- Install Scholar of the Second Sin Texture Overhaul
- Install TriviaTex and overwrite files when prompted
- Install Clean UI and Bloodborne Reticle Enhanced for DS2LE Version 1.3 and overwrite files when prompted
- Install Clean HUD (this mod) and overwrite files when prompted
