TrueLite – A ReShade Preset for Days Gone
Created by: TanGenT

So far version 1.2 still works well with the new remastered update. as I play and get through different environments and lighting, I may tweak some things if needed. but as of now nothing has changed. Feedback is welcome as well to help dial things in for the new update if needed.

Note: This is a work in progress, there have been 2 updates already as I try and adjust things. I think it's pretty dialed in at this point, but all versions are available.
hope you like! If you download an updated version, just add the new preset to the same place as the old, and when asked just hit replace. That will just remove the old and replace it with the new one under the same preset name.

version 1.2 adds ConvertColorSpace.Fx as a replacement for the Curves.Fx
shader that was removed in the previous update. Where Curves.Fx
sometimes pushed colors too hard (especially skin tones and bright lighting), Convertcolorspace.fx
brings back some of that contrast and depth - but in a more balanced, natural way. This helps maintain a bit of extra pop and contrast for those who liked the original look, without the oversaturation or harsh highlights that Curves could create.

Version 1.1 of TrueLite  removes the Curves.fx shader to reduce color oversaturation, especially noticeable in cutscenes. The result is a more balanced and natural look while still keeping the game vibrant.

If you preferred the original.
Version 1.0 is still available under Old Files for download.
Description:
TrueLite is a custom ReShade preset built to improve Days Gone's visuals without overloading your screen with unnecessary effects or filters. My goal was to brighten up the image, make colors pop a bit more, and add a subtle level of clarity—without over-saturating, blowing out highlights, or tanking your framerate. I fine-tuned this preset on an ultrawide 1440p monitor paired with a GeForce RTX 5070, so depending on your setup, you may want to tweak a few settings for your personal preference or performance targets. During testing, I saw an average 5–10 FPS drop, but I kept things as light as possible to make sure it stayed playable even on low-mid-and-high-end machines. This isn’t some overly cinematic preset with heavy bloom and artificial color grading—it’s meant to keep the game looking like Days Gone, just with a cleaner, more vibrant presentation. If you're looking for a visual upgrade that respects the original art direction and doesn't fry your GPU, TrueLite might be what you're after.
Performance Impact:
  • Mild: 5–10 FPS drop on average, depending on your hardware
  • Easily tweakable—feel free to adjust any values to better suit your rig
Installation:
Installation instructions are included in the README.txt inside the zip.
If this is your first time using ReShade, follow Step 1 in the readme.
Hope you enjoy it!
