About this mod

A personal interpretation of the blue chimera Connor mod you may have seen on TikTok. UPDATED

Permissions and credits
A gift consists not in what is done or given, but in the intention of the giver or doer.”

Before you install, make sure you have a clean copy of your .d26 and your .idx file stored. This mod is not compatible with Epic Games versions.

You see the title, the brief description, and you see the images. It's a rendition of the blue chimera Connor you may have seen on TikTok.

Minor update as of 10 March 2025:

Added textures from my previously updated mod for consistency.

To install, extract the files and drag & drop to your game directory and overwrite when prompted.

To uninstall, replace the files in your directory with the backups of your
.d26 and .idx files. Verify your files after, just in case.

My gripes, woes, and irritations lie below, as well as the credits.

After consulting with my tester, I worked on how to best approach the asymmetrical textures that are present in the game files, which would lead to undesirable results. I went through many renditions of this mod, including making a chimera albedo texture (the texture for Connor's face) entirely from scratch, and manually modifying the depth map to suit symmetry and aesthetically pleasing results. I've painstakingly adjusted the default chimera overlay to be fully and entirely symmetrical with hand-drawn tweaks and various tricks I've learned over the eleven years I've pursued art as a hobby. I've also created a custom roughness map that takes this into account also, and I have added the textures from my previous mod, the Black Suit Connor mod. I have done this entirely myself, with minimal help from a Blender friend and various sources around the internet that delve into PBR texturing. I'm not a 3D artist, and before I began modding this game I had zero knowledge on how to adjust these textures.

So yes, everything I've done is through my trial and error, as well as my dedication to learning.

I want to iterate that I have done all of this with game files only, and I have not reused assets from anyone's work (including the only currently public chimera mod you can find on Nexus.) I no longer have access to the .xcf files as my drive was wiped, but I will happily spend time recreating the same result for you including placing unmodified files from the game itself as an overlay to show you that this truly is not done with anyone else's work.

With that out of the way, it's without further ado that I release this mod to the public.

This mod is fully functional in all aspects and routes of the game, minus an inconsistency in Hostage if you choose to sacrifice yourself for Emma. The textures have also been modified in Public Enemy so that you don't just see a void on Connor's torso, making this one of the largest overhauls done by me to date. This also affects RK900 in the machine Connor ending sequence, but I'm pretty sure he still crashes if you model swap RK900 onto Connor. If there's enough demand for an RK900 chimera mod, I'll add it here.

There are very minimal bugs. Connor's shirt will appear a sort of vantablack beyond Last Chance, Connor, but all other characters are untouched, and for those wondering if there are any inconsistencies in Zlatko, Kara's story path mission, don't worry, there are none.

I've worked tirelessly on this mod, but I do not mind if you wish to reuse aspects of this mod for your personal creations, as long as you link back here and credit me. I'm not the first to create a chimera mod, but I'm certain I am the first who has gone to this much effort to correct inconsistencies. I would really appreciate having a little traffic here to allow those who don't have the know-how to recreate things for themselves to enjoy these mods in their personal playthroughs. No one owes anything to me beyond that simple courtesy.

Special thanks to these folks here: Aaron and Reicito @ Deadray that created the DBH editing tool and model swapper respectively. Aaron for his work in creating the tool itself, and
Reicito for the model swapper. I owe hundreds of personal thank yous for even allowing this to be possible in the first place, I don't think people thank these guys enough. I also want to credit the users honestly.andra and diaz..vsp for the idea in the first place; Andra for her work in compiling the original and creating a scenepack, and diaz..vsp for the albedo which was used as inspiration for the blue color itself, even if it was not directly used. Thank you for that.

A very special thanks to @TacoTuesWade. His rigorous testing and unbiased feedback has helped make this mod into what it is, and he truly is one of the most valuable people I've come across in terms of DBH modding. He's kept me sane in my eight-hour daily time investments in GIMP, and listened to my endless failure and somber woes. Your determination in going through and picking apart what requires more tuning made this as polished as it is. Thank you, sincerely.

If you desire a high-quality scenepack, in the coming weeks one will be put together and posted on YouTube.

Enjoy, and feel free to share screenshots!
