The beloved husband of Ceroba and Kanako and creator of Axis from Undertale YELLOW into the world of Devil May Cry.

Chujin was once a hard-working engineer for the many machines of the Steamworks. Along being a husband and a father to Ceroba and Kanako, he was a mentor to Martlet, the creator of Axis, and a beloved citizen of the Underground. Though he was such a beloved monster, unknown to even his closest relatives, he had a downfall with an impact on the Underground.
During a trip to Snowdin with his daughter, Kanako and making a close friend, a human arrived and attacked Kanako's friend and fled to Waterfall, Chujin was filled with rage toward humanity. He adopted the idea that all humans are vile at their core and that monsterkind must be protected from them. Chujin had already started working on a personal project he's been working on: Axis - a machine built to protect monsterkind from humans after reaching the surface. With the human's attack fresh in his mind, he ordered Axis merely apprehend the human, but Axis instead killed the human and collected their SOUL, as their blood splattered the Echo Flowers from their screams. Though he displayed remorse at the moment for opting to do this instead of comforting his daughter, he decided that he would hold onto the SOUL for future experimentation. After this event he proceeded to visit the King of the Underground to showcase Axis after tweaking a few bugs in it's system.
During the eighth and final presentation to the king, Axis would malfunction. This time, sparks flew from the machine onto the king's flower bed, setting a patch of it ablaze. Though it was swiftly put out, the king's patience had reached its end. After thanking Chujin for his contribution to society, he relieved Chujin of his position at the Steamworks.
After this incident, Chujin lied to his family and friends by telling them that he'd simply retired. In secrecy, in a bunker he had built under their family home, he would continue research into a way to combat the threat of humanity once and for all. After years of research, he would finally come to a breakthrough in his research. He had found out that he was one of the few Boss Monsters in the Underground, which means that by proxy Kanako was also a Boss Monster. His hope was that with this information, he could devise a way to transform regular monsters into Boss Monsters, strengthening their entire nation and giving them a chance should another conflict spark against humanity. He came up with a plan centering around the fusion of a human SOUL and a Boss Monster SOUL, according to his theory one could extract from this fusion a serum that would transform regular monsters into Boss Monsters.
After coming up with this plan, Chujin would attempt to make it work with himself and the human SOUL he harvested with Axis previously. Unfortunately, the subject repeatedly rejected the fusion because Chujin's SOUL had deteriorated and his death was imminent. After failing to complete the experiment on his own, he recorded one final message requesting that Ceroba carry on his work under the condition that Kanako remain separate from it all. He would go on to pass away in bed peacefully, informing Ceroba of the bunker and the messages that await her below.
As Ceroba left the room as Chujin closes his eyes and his body slowly turned to dust, a Dark Fountain emerged from under his bed swallowing Chujin, unknown if this is a trip to monster heaven or something more..
When he opened his eyes, confusion sparked around him as a human was stabbed by his own Katana, warping and transforming into something Chujin haven't witnessed or seen before.. In fear and panic, he rushed out towards the manor into the unknown world, shocked to see humans surrounded and confused by his arrival as a strange chill ran down his back, he had.. magic? Or at least some sort of power to fight back, Chujin was never a combat focused type person and relied on Axis to do the work before the fateful day, especially for protection, but knowing that he's been granted power, even if a little bit, the SOUL deterioration has slowed.. at least for a little while, on a time limit, learning his magic abilities and conjuring a bird, a tiger and a strange goo creature and learning to better his judgement with humans, Chujin went to the one place he could find answers as a neon sign was lit up and opened the doors to meet a red coated human with platinum silver hair..
