I have never been satisfied with Dante's dmc5 costume, so when I saw the coat model from Reaper of the Underworld by Nxus64 I immediately started playing with textures. I was inspired both by the elements present in Dante's design in the previous games and by concept art. In particular the high neck and the waistcoat under the coat are inspired by dmc1. The coat has the rolled up sleeves of dmc1, is zipped like dmc2, and the shoulder pads are in dmc4 style, plus a rose pattern that stands in contrast to the new details on Vergil coat (ie the thorns). The long sleeves are alike dmc1 and the open and fingerless gloves are inspired by dmc3. Pants and boots are in dmc1 and dmc2 style but keeping the brown color for the belts. The golden color on details was chosen in contrast to Virgil's silver and to resemble Dante's fire theme.
Big thanks to Nxus64 for "Reaper of the Underworld Costume for Dante" model (https://www.nexusmods.com/devilmaycry5/mods/364) and djheretostay for "Sleeved dmc1 inspired colors Dante" base texture (https://www.nexusmods.com/devilmaycry5/mods/271).
