The mod lets you select a Zone and makes it Terrorized. The Zones won't rotate, that's not possible by only file editing.
What you need to do:
- Enter your character level (the character level you intend to play with)
- Select a Zone
- Install the mod
Some scenarios:
Let's say you have 2 characters:
- level 80 character
- level 90 character
You want to play with the lvl 80 character and want Tristram to be Terrorized:
- Enter 80 as character level
- Select Tristram
- Install the mod
Let's say you level up, you are now lvl 81, you need to:
- Exit the game
- Enter 81 as character level
- Change Zone (if you want)
- Install the mod
- Exit the game
- Enter 90 as character level
- Select The Chaos Sanctuary
- Install the mod
In short: everytime you want to change zone and/or character level, you have to exit the game, select a zone and/or enter the character's level you want to play with.
LIMITATIONS:
- Only works in Hell Difficulty but it cannot check if Baal is killed or not. You can use it anytime in Hell if you want.
- Does not have Terror Zone graphics / sound (No icons next to the monster's name, no sound effect on entry) - probably not possible without code editing, will try to add the text in the top right corner
- Only Bosses (Act bosses + Summoner, Nihlathak, etc..) and Superuniques (Eldritch, Pindleskin, etc...) drop Sunder Charms (~1% drop rate).
- The game has to be restarted everytime you want to change zones and/or character level
- Terrorized text will be added to the current area (couldn't color it so it's red) but (1) Text won't show in all languages only English, (2) Sewers (Act II and Act III) uses the same id for their Level Entry text so if one is terrorized both areas will have the text but only 1 of them will actually be terrorized) - might be able to fix (2)
When a Zone is Terrorized it means:
The monsters in these zones will be at least 2 levels higher:
- Normal +2 levels, up to level 96,
- Champions +4 levels, up to level 98
- Uniques/Bosses +5 levels, up to level 99
Superunique / Boss Treasure Classes will be upgraded based on your character's level so they can drop Sunder Charms and if you are high level enough they will also drop TC87 items too.
(Normal monster Treasure Classes are also upgraded but the game does this automatically when the area level is increased, but random Champion/Unique monsters won't drop Sunder Charms like on Bnet.)
Optionally you can set a Monster density multiplier and add Extra boss packs.
BUGS:
The mod needed a ton of data gathering, some part all manual so it's likely that I've made some mistakes. If you encounter any bugs, please report it in the BUGS section and include:
- The character level you entered
- The Zone you chose
1.3 UPDATE
Weaker version of Uber Lilith in Terror Zones:
- She is still pretty strong so you need a well-geared character
- Can drop every item in the game and has the best odds for TC87 items
- Always drops 2 runes (Runes 17 Treasure Class, so every kill has a chance to drop up to Zod)
- Drops a rare custom item too
5 New superuniques (1 in each Act):
- They are not particularly strong, you can probably kill them with a 80+ character efficiently (they have a bit more hp than usual superuniques)
- Can also drop every item in the game, but they are best for Jewelry (charms, rings, amulets). Can also drop every rune but they have a very low chance of dropping rune.
- They all drop a rare custom item too (once you drop one, you'll know what to do with them :) )
- They always spawn at the same location, they are not tied to Terror Zones
If you want to know the superunique locations and/or what the custom items are, check the stickied post (but finding out yourself is half the fun imo :) )
