Introduction
ReMoDDeD acts as an overhaul/expansion style mod for D2R. It is by far the largest, most advanced mod out there, and it's still in Beta.
  It pushes softcode modding to it's very limits while expanding upon the core aspects of the classes and itemization we all grew to love.
If you are looking for a retail experience with a few QoL changes; this is not it.
  
There are thousands of edited files, with new content and QoL features packed into every nook and cranny.
In addition, we are the first mod to support both Single and Multi-Player experiences.
You can take advantage of our varying mod experiences using our customized launcher options:

D2RLaunch and D2RLAN
Since we support both Single and Multi-Player mod experiences, we also have varying launcher options you may choose from.
D2RLaunch supports Single-Player modding and will be compatible with the latest retail versions of the game.
D2RLAN supports Multi-Player modding (TCP/IP) and will be compatible with only version 2.4 of the game (at this time).

Both launcher configurations will add many QoL controls and mod manager style options, such as:
- Automatic Backups/Restoral, Font Controls, Custom Hotkey Options, Advanced Monster Stats Display and much more...
- Both launchers can be used for any mod* and will also customize itself based on mod author's settings (single config file).
*Mods must be properly configured (D2R Version, File/Folder structure, etc)

Expanded Storage
We understand the need to hoard items and your desire to pick up shiny things. All storage locations have been expanded to accommodate this need.
This includes access to all 7 tabs of your shared stash, giving you 8 total.
However, this extra space isn't purely for show; it's also a core part of the mod experience. Some cube recipes will require a large number of inputs, and some items will take up more inventory slots. There is also a Dynamic Charm Weighting System to add further build diversity.
While you will have more storage space available than ever before, you will treasure each slot equally.
  


Dark/Modern UI
ReMoDDeD has its own UI theme that can be toggled on/off (currently forced on). It aims to improve the overall ease of user interactions and reduce screen clutter for a more fluid experience. Panels such as Character Stats, Skill Trees, and more have been streamlined.
We also support controller players*, large font mode, and all 13 enabled languages.
*Some issues remain due to hardcoded quirks or D2R version compatibility

  
Custom Info Menus
ReMoDDeD aims to provide as much in-game information as possible, making it easy to browse and understand all the new content in the mod.
Our integration with D2RLaunch and D2RLAN expands customizability further, allowing you to sort your in-game Runeword List by preference.
Enjoy the seemless tooltips and dropdowns that give you quick access to important info, without ever needing to leave the game.
You may even notice players having their names permanently etched into the halls of glory for previous discoveries or achievements.
  

Skill Previews
Animated Skill Previews have been added to help you theorycraft, explore builds, and find out more info about specific skills.
This panel also allows you to preview Open Skills (available from items and useable by any class), that might alter your builds or decisions.
Many, if not all of the Open Skills will synergize with existing class skills; acting as an ever-branching skill tree.
Don't stress about discovering it all either, take advantage of our Infinite Respec button in the skill tree to quickly explore different paths.


Horadric Rift Shop
The Horadric Rift Shop displays a wide range of varying rewards that may be purchased* during each shop rotation.
You will need to spend/sacrifice a range of different materials depending on the purchase you're making.
These rewards will rotate periodically (usually monthly) and will contain anything from one-time upgrades, exclusive perks or high-valued items
Due to the constantly shifting rewards, materials needed and other requirements (see below), a wide range of class builds can enjoy this feature.
Be warned though: The lords who offer these deals can sometimes be petty. You may need to meet certain kill or death requirements to prove your worth.
  


Storage Bag System
A new unique item, The Quality of Life Bag,  simplifies managing commonly used materials and allows you to:
- Deposit or Withdraw: Gems, Runes, Uber Keys, Organs, and Full Rejuvs
- Recycle unwanted Set and Unique Items using the Blood Contract System
- Rerolling Sets, Uniques, and Magic Charms directly from the bag
There is no need to upgrade, downgrade, or stack these materials manually anymore.
This addition expands their usage and greatly increase the convenience of farming; creating new reasons to hunt for these items.


Expanded Item Database
Hundreds of new Uniques, Sets, Runewords, and Class-Specific items have been added to the loot tables.
These items can unlock new skills not found on your skill tree, allowing new mechanics or effects for you to build upon.
You'll also find many brand new stats themselves, that will further diversify how they can interact with summons, skills and more.
Expect completely new stats, skills, special interactions, and mechanics that enhance your creativity in building characters.
       


Item Enhancements
Enhance your gear with Enhancement Crystals, which allow detailed item customization and opens up more gear selection.
  These enhancement crystals can be purchased from our new vendor, Edyrem
- Crystals come in three qualities: Low, Medium, and High.  
- They add stats to items at the cost of increasing their level requirements.  
- Some crystals have usage limits to prevent abuse. These limits apply to the individual item, not in total.
- Over-enhancing an item may raise its level requirement beyond your character's level, causing it to be unwearable
This system helps diversify builds and starting strategies while allowing creative character expression in with built-in limits.
  


Blood Contracts
Recycle unwanted Set/Unique items into your Quality of Life Storage Bag, using their generated cores to create new Set/Unique items.
When you cube a sacrificial item (Weapon/Armor/Jewelry/Etc) together with the stored Set or Unique cores from your bag, you will be able to generate a new item of the same slot type as your sacrificial item*. (Gloves beget Gloves, Helms beget Helms, etc.)
This item will always be Set or Unique, and any Set or Unique in the game can be acquired this way.

Forsaken Pacts
Fuse completed sets to create new and powerful, un-droppable sets. Essentially a Set Upgrade/Recycling System.
You can cube an entire set together, to create a Forsaken Pact of that set. Then combine 2 or more Pacts together to fuse the sets together in your cube.
These Pact combinations are unknown when first released to the public however; and must be discovered manually.
Luckily, those who suffer the trials of tribulation to discover these pacts, will be immortalized for their contributions in the Forsaken Pact Menu:
  


Runic Forging
In addition to our Forsaken Pact System, we also have an expanded system for dealing with runewords.
By re-making runewords again in your cube, you can forge them into higher tier runewords; unlocking better stats or new abilities.
These special runewords are marked in our in-game menu and will likely adapt and expand in time.
       


Jeweled Runewords
Expand the potential of your runewords and base items by using jewels to fill in any additional sockets.
By placing any jewel(s) in empty slots before the required runes, you will gain the benefits of both the jewels and the runeword.
In addition, socketing potential has been greatly expanded upon, allowing sockets in all item types and with increased quantities available.
To help balance this out some, rune benefits have been lowered overall and socket acquisition is more difficult.
You will in fact be more powerful if you can combine the right ingredients together; but you're going to have to work at it.
Mercenary Upgrades
Your Mercenaries have received substantial upgrades, including new skills, unique auras, and the ability to use all equipment slots.  
Mercenaries now support many different builds, assisting with things like Mass Enchant, Regen/Speed Buffs, Multiple Element Damage Types and much more.
Treat them well, as they can be your key allies in this ever-growing and challenging mod.

Custom Bosses
ReMoDDeD offers an expanding bestiary of Bosses with unique mechanics, loot tables, and battle strategies.
Expect your movement, map layouts, and builds to play a more significant role in these fights.
Monsters are more aggressive, faster to react, and have enhanced projectiles and effects*.
You will be expected to care more about defensive skills, stats and build options to help combat these new threats.
*Expect many more changes in time; bosses have not been customized as much during this Beta release
 
Monster Re-Designs
Monsters are now more diverse, presenting a greater threat overall. Many having unique skills or special mechanics at their disposal.
Certain "leader" type monsters will strongly incentivize some more defensive thoughts or actions
Champions and Uniques are much more fitting of their names; having their damage greatly increased above their inferior brethren.
Some of the special mechanics you may run into during your adventure may include monsters:
- Buffing nearby enemies upon death; allowing them to seek revenge for their fallen comrades
- Adapting their stats or skills based on your own prowess, stats or skills
- Gaining stronger projectiles as they level up; both in terms of damage and quantity
- Using skills like Strafe, Multi Shot, Whirlwind, Lightning Fury, Debuff Procs, Auras and more...


Endgame Areas
Explore 50 levels of Torment Trials, split between:
- Torment Levels (25): Randomly generated maps with a line-of-sight teleport restriction. Top-levels of Torment Trials.
- Icy Hell Levels (25): Static maps with endgame bosses and no teleport restrictions. Sub-levels of Torment Trials.
These areas offer greater challenges, exclusive rewards, and a deeper dive into the world of ReMoDDeD.
Expect many new areas* in time, as well as further enhancements to the Torment Trials. We are still in Beta for a reason.
*There are currently around 2 dozen planned (and reserved) level entries for Act 1-4 areas

New Skills & Visuals
New Skills and Visuals are constantly being added/updated to showcase D2R's potential power and beauty, while introducing exciting gameplay opportunities.
You can find these skills as new class replacements or from some of the hundreds of new items added to the mod.
Frankly, we have yet begun to showcase and implement all the new options that will be available; it's time to have fun!
We hope you have fun exploring all the different builds and combinations possible!

Dynamic Charm Weighting
Active charms in your inventory now add weight to your character, affecting various gameplay mechanics or stats. Weights are determined by charm size.
All classes start with a weight capacity of 40 (equivalent to a 10x4 grid), though this may change in time.
Weight capacity can be expanded using special items, recipes and investing in base stats like Strength.
 
Exceeding this weight limit has dire consequences however:  
Your current mana is reduced to 0 and cannot be restored; until the weight is lowered.  
Furthermore, you will find that various stats like Movement Speed, +AllSkills, Damage Reduction, etc will be penalized the more weight you use.
Conversely, you will also be rewarded with increased mana regeneration, movement speed, etc for using less weight also.

Kill & Death Impacts
Both kills and deaths are tracked by our Mythos Log Unique Charm that all characters start with.
This charm also grants your initial weight capacity bonus (see Dynamic Charm Weighting), so it cannot be discarded.
In this fashion, your kills and deaths will be recorded over the lifetime of your character and will affect their overall strength capability.
For example, gaining many kills may give you additional total hp%, skill levels, increase your summon strength, etc.
However, an excessive amount of deaths will also have their own consequence; such as reducing your total hp %.
There are caps for punishments, and they can always be overcome by more kills, but you will think twice before teleporting into that champ pack.

Soul Summons
Bring the party with you in Single Player*! Unlock the ability to summon the souls of fallen heroes to fight by your side.
This system will allow you to both summon and upgrade up to 7 "clones" of the D2 classes. 
These Soul Summons will both use their own innate skillsets as well as adapt themselves to the exact class you're currently playing.
A Barbarian Soul Summon would behave very differently when used on your Amazon vs your Necromancer.
Furthermore, Summons grow stronger as you devote resources to upgrading their tier level.
Each Tier level will increase their stats, skill levels, upgrade their equipment, their AI responses and unlock powerful attributes at max tier.
This is a long-term upgrade system that will require thousands and thousands of Soul Shards in order to fully max out all 7 summons.
You can share this item between all your characters and build it up over time. Have fun!
*This feature is available in Single-Player only due to balancing reasons



Mapping System
While this is a new and relatively beta feature, it is a growing and dynamic system we think you will enjoy a lot.
Map-related items can be dropped from endgame monsters that allow you to open red portals to customized map levels.
These map-related items can be cubed to create maps themselves, or upgrade materials to enhance their attributes. (Random)
The monsters, yourself and the map drops will all be affected by the rolls on your map. Maps will also spawn with varying locations/themes.
These effects will alter stats such as resistance, hp, damage, etc, (for both you and monsters), adjust item drop count and much more.
Furthermore, when completing maps, you may consume them (right-click) for a chance at varying bonuses, such as permanent stat increases.
These maps are frequently paired with our Horadric Rift Shop, granting dynamic bonuses each rotation for consuming maps.
Please keep in mind that only one map may be active at a time; so you should always consume them before using the next one (Don't toss them!)



Special Events
We also periodically host special in-game events, that are automatically managed by our launchers, D2RLaunch/D2RLAN.
These special events can range from something as simple as an item drop buff, to replacing all enemies with bosses in certain areas.
Special Horadric Rift Shop Purchases may appear with the holidays, or Easter Eggs might drop from monsters, you never know.

ReMoDDeD is a continuously evolving mod that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in Diablo II: Resurrected. We’re dedicated to bringing new features, balance changes, and content to keep your experience fresh and exciting. We've led the D2R modding scene for years and will continue to improve the game for all of the D2 fans out there. The demons will never be safe as long as we're around!

Troubleshooting & Updates
Due to our quite custom nature of development, we will NOT be updating NexusMods with every mod or tool upgrade available.
We have our own solutions for updating things automatically (such as our launcher) and Nexus will only make this task more confusing for new players.
In addition; as we are still in Beta development, troubleshooting and active help will only be provided in our Discord at this time.
I simply do not have the time to maintain many different websites with active support, file releases, etc.
Please understand I would if I could, but for now, all major conversations will be carried out in Discord.
