It doesn't matter what I tell myself, or my character for that matter!
Taevalyn was supposed to save her heart for Zevran. And then she looked up into that face.. heard that voice.. and it was just impossible not to choose Alistair. (That morph is Raks Alistair, btw!)

This is the playthru I wanted to import to Inquisition. It was SUPPOSED to be a Dalish Elf origin, a hardened Alistair ruling Ferelden alone, my warden as the Commander of the Grey, doing her best to rebuild the wardens, then going on a search to find the witch and the child, etc, etc.
But, I just can't do it. It's always Alistair, no matter how hard I try. Damn Bioware, and Steve Valentine for an amazing combination to make one hell of a character.
I was doing a little searching this morning to see if I could find in what manner Alistair would appear in Inquisition, if it would be only as King, or if he still appears if he remained a warden, hoping it would help the inner struggle of decision making. I didn't find anything concrete, but did stumble on this:

I dont mind if characters from DAO or DA2 are in DAI if thdy have a legitimate story reason for being there but if it is just an appearance to tie the games together like Alistair's and Leliana's and even Flemeth's, then it is just gimmicky and cheap.
But yes, one of the main reasons I wanted the Dalish origin was the tie not only in Witch Hunt to the mirror, but having that knowledge of the background of the mirror and how it ties to Merril in DA2, and also thinking/hoping that in some way, choosing a Dalish Elf for my Inquisitor might lead to more in depth tie-ins. Maybe dumb, but just my thoughts.
