About this image

Alistair died :[
Mortice was rushing towards sacrificing himself to the archdemon, BUT Alistair outplayed him.
(I had to reload the entire final battle for 3 times because I couldn't believe that there were no other choices but Alistair's death.)
Without Mortice, Alistair could have distracted himself from the grief doing his king business, executing Anora, and what not.
Without Alistair, Mortice felt like the lower depth of depression, meanwhile everyone stopped caring about him because hooray the blight was over, and basically he wasn't needed anymore.

Bastard Alistair has become a yet another corpse boyfriend in line of the haunting corpse boyfriends, thus making Mortice an official Black Widower.
Mortice's family was also long gone, except for the elder bro that inherited the Teyrn Cousland title, and Mortice inherited nothing.
The only thing left for him was to crawl into a bush somewhere far away and die in some unheroic fashion.

Well yeah, Alistair actually was going to sacrifice himself, but he ran into heavy opposition from his lover Mortice, and got severely fought by him, since Mortice was going to sacrifice himself as well, thus let Alistair be the only boyfriend that has outlived him. Alistair lost the fight with his lover.
It was too late when he realized that Mortice died slaying the Archdemon.
Alistair didn't want to be king any more, so he gave the crown to Anora and remained with the Grey Wardens.
He doesn't know but he's going to play a part in further events taking place after 10 years. He has reasons to live.

He is not dead right? He has his duty. He may be living hollow but, Mortice can say he was loved deeply.

Aw, since Mortice's previous lovers had deceased, Dairren first, and then Duncan soon enough, he swore to himself he won't let Alistair die in the war, but this did happen and was the last straw. Although Mortice won that battle he felt like he lost.
Here's what happened after: Mortice gained the teyrnir of Gwaren (in stead of Highever that's gone over Fergus) from queen Anora. He departed from Denerim as soon as he could. He was ruling Gwaren for some years, then was gone missing, most likely died.

Oh wow!!! That's so sad! Let's hope he turns up somewhere. Fergus must be so worried since Mortice is all he has too.
