After I started running with a blonder Alistair (http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2971) I found myself wanting Zevran to be less blond. He was also suffering from the same "too many random shades of brown" eye problem that was bugging me with most of the companions.
I switched his hair up to a coppery brown colour, gave him dark blue eyes, toned down his tattoo a little, and tilted his ears slightly further out so that his hair would stop clipping through them. The end result is still recognizably Zevran, just tweaked a little.
Note that this morph does use custom colours from the "Hairstyles, Hair Color, Skin Tones, Eye Colors" mod put together by RaidianNight (http://social.bioware.com/project/1626/) and that you will need that mod, or at minimum the pt_eye_kvb, pt_har_br4 and pt_stb_br4 files from it, for this head to display correctly.
