Pretty Eyes

Default eye texture replacement and optional textures for the toolset.

I've added LOD files so that the textures will show up at lower settings. Please be aware that the default eye texture (modded or unmodded) will not appear if you are using the LOW "Graphic Details" setting. This is because the LOW "Graphic Details" setting turns off the default eye texture altogether, making eyes appear black. You will need to use MEDIUM (or higher) setting of "Graphics Details" in order to see the default eye texture.

The default eye texture replacement changes the default eye texture for EVERY character in the game that uses the default texture. That includes almost all unmodded NPCs.

INSTALLATION

To install drop "Pretty Eyes" folder into the override folder.

".../My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/packages/core/override"

To uninstall delete the "Pretty Eyes" folder.

COMPATIBILITY

Pretty Eyes should be compatible with any mod that changes faces or anything else, as long as it doesn't change the default eye texture. If you have any problems or questions leave a comment and I'll try to fix it.

This mod is tested and works with:

Dragon Age Redesigned
TMP's Elf Update
Pineappletree's Vibrant Colors

I suggest the LIGHT version of Pineappletree's Vibrant Colors (which is the one that does not include default replacements). The default eye color replacements were meant to brighten up the dull colors of the default textures, which my mod also does. Using my mod with the default color replacement results in extremely bright eye colors, which may or may not be to your taste. (see my images for example)

IMPORTANT COMPATIBILITY ISSUE AND FIX

If you are using both Dragon Age Redesigned AND TMP's Qunari Update there is an issue with characters that have "bloodshot" eyes. This is not because of my mod, but it can be especially noticeable with the brighter eyes.

To avoid this you can:
1)Download the default qunari eye texture under miscellaneous downloads on this page, and drop it into your override folder.
OR
2)Download the "optional, uncompiled version" of Qunari Update instead of the dazip version. Then delete the file "pn_eye_quna_0d.dds" before or after placing the update in your AddIns folder.

Thank you to falcophoenix for pointing out this problem, and for figuring out the solution.
Thank you to Kajana for suggesting a fix for people that have already download the dazip version.

Permissions

Feel free to use and alter these however you'd like, but please keep it on the Nexus and give me credit for the original files.
You can also include my texture files in your own mods if you wish, but PLEASE credit me if you do so. I spent a lot of time making these!

The files are now "loose" instead of packed inside an .erf, to make it easier for you to package them with your mods.

Enjoy! :)
