UNIQUE CHARACTERS

After using some great mods that help bridge the gap between the huge art direction changes between the three games, I found some tutorials so that I could tweak some the npcs myself. It eventually snowballed over the last year and I have decided to release my edits so others can enjoy them. I decided to go for a mix of vanilla and modded armors.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have included nothing from other mod authors, 80% of my mod won't work unless you download the required files.

Please download the mods in the required section above and follow the mod author's instructions for each mod apart from Chantry of Ferelden.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everything is modular, I have separated every npc I have edited into sections, mostly quest related so that you can delete files if you don't want them. It is best to start a new fresh game for the changes to take effect. At least before you enter an area for the first time in the game but I wouldn't recommend it just to be on the safe side.

GDA Conflicts:
I would recommend not touching Loincloth Fashions or Kirkwall Exports GDA files since they are the core mods and were made in mind by the authors to be quite compatible with other mods. I did go through and check the gda files and I found (hopefully!) no conflicts if you just use the mods I listed.

I have included the list I made of the armors and their gda numbers I used from each mod in the download.

If you use more armor mods than the list, I would suggest reading theskymoves tutorial's on GDA editing.

And use this table to see what numbers are free to use in your game:

This mod won't be compatible with Improved Atmosphere.

List of Changes:

Soldiers- DA:Inquisition for the official look of Ferelden soldiers, I did a mix of heavy, medium and light foot soldiers. Loincloth Fashion was used mostly for them. I also left in vanilla armors as well so that the pre rendered cutscenes don't look so out of place.

City Guards- I kept to a vanilla look, I just updated them to use a nicer looking armor from Warden's Keep.

Templars- Updated to match their DA2 counterparts. I know Templars of Ferelden exists but it hasn't been updated for a while. I had issues with the mod myself so I decided to rebuild the mod myself and put it in with what I have already edited.

Chantry- Updated the Chantry to match DA2 as well, I did include some files that use Inquisition style robes as well for the high rank clerics.

Dalish- I used a mix of vanilla and DA2/Inquisiton armors. I also used a texture mod to redo the vanilla dalish armors so that's why I didn't go all out on replacing all dalish elves with updated armor.

Dwarves- I added some armors from Loincloth Fashion to some dwarves, I also redid the guards, fixed some mismatch armor and also added some noble dress variations to certain dwarven women.

Qunari- If you use Qunari Update and Kossith Update, I have included some files that adds the armor to Sten in the Epilogue. I also decided to include all Qunari npcs as well because the mods don't cover every Qunari npc.

Cultists- I decided to make them look a bit more barbaric with vanilla armor, I also added some dragonbone armor to some of the Cult Lieutenants but they can't be looted.

Nobles- I used a great retexture mod so I only changed a few of the noble npcs, mostly the Couslands and the nobles in the landsmeet.

Bandits/Enemies/Mercenaries - I left most of the encounters/ambushes alone but I made some groups look more unique, they do wear armor that the soldiers wear. I feel that the lines are more blurred between the castes of Ferelden.

I have fixed some npcs as well that were missing gloves or had mismatched armor. I also adjusted some vanilla npcs to different colour variations of clothing there were already had equipped. Also there are characters I deliberately left alone as I think their look is iconic (like Loghain) or I thought it might cause problems down the line (with certain character drops).
