A fully modular mod that allows any and all companions to be in a unique outfit during the Halamshiral Ball. Never again suffer the thought "Vivienne/Dorian/Leliana would never...!"

I do not recommend you use this outside Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts, as the advisors alter meshes used by NPCs, leading to nonsense appearances.

Update 16/01/2025: Requires Padme4000's DAI Frosty Texture Glitch Fixes for all companions to avoid infinite loading at the start of the mission.

Files include:
  • REQUIRED Main Bundle Edit: This should be loaded first to apply the bundle changes necessary for the mod to function. Likely to be incompatible with any other mod that does bundle editing for Halamshiral or party member clothing.
  • Individual character files: Turn these on and off as you please. Characters you don't install the mod for will be in the standard formal wear or whatever retexture you have installed. Will conflict with other changes to the character's clothing.
  • Semi-Optional Armour Appearance Utility: This mod changes crafted Tier 3 Mail recipes to use the Formal Wear appearance, crafted Tier 3 Coats to use the Unequipped appearance, and gives all non-unique armour recipes tier 4 stats, so that using any armour for consistent appearances won't give a mechanical disadvantage. While not necessary for the mod to function, I have committed several crimes against various vanilla armour parts in creating this mod and so make no promises about your armour looking sensible in combat areas without it, or some other way of switching armour appearance. Personally, I'll be continuing to use the Svarty's Configurable Armour II configurations I've had for years, but I put this option together for the people who don't want to use DAIMODs and Frosty together. Do not use another armour switcher with this one as they will likely conflict.
  • Entirely optional Inquisitor wears PJs: I kept forgetting where to find the invisible formal wear mod so I made another one.
  • Entirely optional Inquisition Formalwear: A retexture of the standard formalwear that matches the colour scheme of this mod. Use like any other formalwear retexture.
  • Royal Retextures Briala: A port of the Royal Retextures Briala retexture done using the bundle editing method in order to give her a unique mesh that can be edited without affecting every servant using the same dress. Shout out to DaedricSaber1701 for putting their texture files out there as a resource.

Now, I have run this mission with every single companion through every single cutscene so I am fairly confident it's stable at the time of release. That said, I have encountered a number of race conditions over the years I've been working on this so I do recommend saving frequently, especially in the Servant's Quarters and Royal Wing where issues are most likely to occur.

I had to hide some characters arms/legs to prevent clipping in combat areas, so if you haven't crafted an armour to match the appearance from this mod, they will be missing body parts. In order to have members of your active party looking the same as they do in the screenshots, you should dress most companions in an armour made to look like the unequipped armour if their mod is installed. Dorian, Vivienne, and Varric are exceptions.
  • Dorian: Armour with the appearance of the Enchanter Coat with Apprentice Coat Legs and Enchanter Coat Arms upgrades.
  • Vivienne: Armour with the appearance of the Apprentice Coat, no leg upgrades, and Battlemage Mail Arms.
  • Varric: Armour with the appearance of the Scout Armour, with no upgrades.
Varric also abjectly refuses to wear his coat outside of combat areas (I mean, he will, but then the royal wing crashes...). Personally, I have decided this is a very funny thing for him to do as a character and I'm not going to fix it.
Additionally, I mostly put Cassandra in the dragon armour as a joke because she wanted ceremonial armour, personally I'm leaving her in retextured formal wear.

Update: I forgot the metal instructions: DA:I uses the metallic mask (from the blue channel in the specular file) as the metal tint mask too, making it extremely difficult to make untintable metal in this game. Therefore, when making the consistent armour for your active party, tint with Summer Stone at the tinting table afterwards to make the colours consistent, or else it will take on the colour of whatever other metal you use to make the armour.

If you would like to do any recolours, retextures, mesh swaps, compatibility patches, ect. I have provided the fbproject files as a modders resource. I actively encourage other modders to build on this one, especially the mesh editors. I am but a novice mesh editor so I'm working with vanilla meshes entirely but if anyone out there wants to put Leliana and Jose in fancy ported sims dresses please do (and if we all agree to build off the same bundle editing framework, all the mods will be compatible so we can have infinite dress up possibilities). Take my files, publish your own versions, I'd appreciate if you link back as credit but I'm hardly going to come hunt you down if you forget, I just want to see this be used to build up a wider selection of compatible formalwear options.

In a similar vein I will not be taking recolour requests for this mod for the time being because it is merely a precursor to the mod I actually wanted to make and I'll be going back to working on that, but again I do encourage anyone who wants to have a go themselves to do so. You can extract my textures from the project files or the vanilla textures via frosty.
