*** UPDATE REGARDING TRESPASSER - our favourite ex-Templar is now optimized for use with DLC. Just switch out his standard model for Shiny Happy Cullen, and... Maker's balls! No more crashing DLC! ***
Lyrium abuse is no laughing matter. Just ask Samson - that stuff will wreak havoc with your complexion, your sense of perspective, your favourite armour... and it's pretty obvious that the blue crystal peddled by those pesky Templars is a sure-fire gateway to the red stuff.
However, if a recovering Templar happens to be blessed with exemplary character, iron will, and naturally wavy hair, he just might manage to weather the ravages of lyrium addiction without going completely bonkers or suddenly imploding. In that rare instance, one might expect him to appear inordinately clammy, with a greyish, pallid complexion, as though suffering a particularly nasty head-cold.
Unfortunately, if said Templar is one of the few romance options available to a discerning (non-beardy-baldy-fetishist) Lady Inquisitor, that kind of realism and attention to detail frickin' SUCKS. Hello, Bioware? We love your writing. Your characters are compelling, heart-rending and as three-dimensional as a digital person can be. Do they really, truly, have to be so sweaty?!
Methinks not. I hereby propose an alternative spin on our favourite Knight Captain.
Cullen is a physical guy. He spends all day, every day, hacking his way round a training yard in the hot Ferelden sun, so a little perspiration is to be expected. But... surely a tan wouldn't be unreasonable? A few sun-bleached flashes of colour in his perfectly coiffed hair? At very least, IMHO, the poor bloke shouldn't look quite so much like he's about to keel over from exhaustion and/or dysentery.
Dysentery is not sexy, Bioware.
Hopefully, this is:
Sun-Kissed Cullen!
Freckles? Check. Sun-bleached highlights? Yup. Waxy, cold-turkey pallor? Only on weekends and holidays, baby.
Sun-Kissed Cullen is a stand-alone mod (no other downloads are required). Any other mods that tweak Cullen's face (or teeth) will probably conflict with this one; clothing mods, hair mods, and eye mods should work just fine. Please feel free to contact me if you need assistance.
Many thanks to the creators of the DAI Modding Tool and the Mod Manager; to Adela for pointing me in the right direction; and to Papercrow, for her fantastic tex modding tutorial.
