About this mod
An expansion to Lucanis romance through codex entries and missives additions or rewrites.

I was genuinely happy with what I got for Lucanis but some actual cinematic romantic content would have been definitely needed between the romance lock and the romance climax scene.
The Rook and the Talon is aiming for that by adding, altering or rewriting several textual elements, most of them unlocked during Act 3.
There are a Crow version and a non Crow version for male, female and non binary characters.
The mod is available in ENGLISH and FRENCH.
Ce mod est disponible en ANGLAIS et en FRANCAIS.

DISCLAIMER :
The images shown here are from my personnal version of the mod where I mention my mage character's Spellblade spec In Logbook 1 image and his love for hot chocolate in Logbook 5 image. The Spellblade reference and the two Spite's line about hot chocolate and linseed oil are not part of the Nexus version. It would have been too much work.
This mod is not compatible with Hardened Lucanis Romance at the moment.
The Alternative Romance Lines works.
Feel free to make me aware of any problem (typos, continuity error between the Crow or no Crow versions, pronouns that I missed to transform in the right gender). I'll try to look into it.
Hope you enjoy it !
DESCRIPTION :
The five entries for Lucanis Logbook have been enhanced.
Logbook 1 and 2 unlock right after the first solo conversation with Lucanis and now have a better Rook integration in Lucanis daily activities and the beginning of a common interest/routine between the two of them.
Logbook 3 unlocks with the resolution of Bloodbath and is the shortest of them all, mostly focusing on Lucanis internal turmoil.
The reason for Logbook 3 being shorter is because Bloodbath also unlocks The Joyous Wyvern (collectible) codex entry and A letter to Lucanis from Illario.
The Joyous Wyvern simply contains an additionnal note from Rook for immersion purposes.
A Letter to Lucanis (from Illario) has become A Letter from Lucanis (to Rook).
The total rewrite and repurpose of this letter is simple : the original is basically useless.
Illario has been suspicious since day one and just revealed his hand at the end of Bloodbath.
What is this letter for ?!
The version from Lucanis to Rook is the first big piece of the expansion and adds up to Logbook 3.
Logbook 4 unlocks after the romance lock conversation (after completing Inner Demons).
The modifications include :
The use of three Spite's lines (INFINITE/SHELTER/STORM) from Logbook 5 to better balance the content between the two entries.
The additionnal Spite's lines (TOWER/SUN/WARM/WHOLE/CLOUDS). They are a direct reference to the pantry/almost-kiss scene with Rook (the tower) breaking apart Lucanis' "perfectly gathered clouds of doom".
The lock conversation is underlined with "Rook's smile during dessert".
In the Crow version, Rook is mentionned with Viago when Lucanis writes about poisons.
The "hour lost" section has been expanded with an inner promise from Lucanis once the dust has settled among the Crows.
Logbook 5 unlocks after a Moment's Peace.
The climax of the training routine between Rook and Lucanis concludes the Logbook series with Rook and Lucanis first actual kiss and Spite's opinion on the matter by referencing the description Lucanis made of a first kiss in the first cafe scene. HOPE/HOME are about Rook.
An Invitation from the First Talon is a rewrite of Jacobus' missive after Ivenci's downfall and unlocks near the main endgame. The letter is from Lucanis who gives news about the new house and then invites Rook to a date into Dellamorte's Estate. An additionnal note from Rook tells what happened that night and make a final link with the endgame romantic content.
The Gratitude of Lovers missive unlocks if you help the couple in Partners in a Dangerous Crime and has received a series of immersive additional notes.
Finding Answers Missive unlocks after Blood and Fire and now contains an additionnal response from Rook.
The Inner Demons quest has been expanded through the modification of 7 thought fragments now including Rook.
Unfolding the Future is a total rewrite of the Minrathous Recovery Plans codex entry. This collectible entry can be found in the room where you talk to your companions for the last time during the battle of Minrathous. This new version expands on the final conversation with Lucanis, adresses the lack of content regarding Rook's return from the Fade prison and gives a further insight into Lucanis' state of mind and his hopes for his future with Rook.
