The bonuses provided by Luck and Wisdom don't scale along a curved progression as one would expect. Instead, there are internal thresholds that are required to meet to reap the full benefits of these stats. This can result in unexpected behavior, such as characters dealing less damage on level up, higher level characters dealing less damage than lower level characters with similar stats, and significant spikes in power when changing classes.
Luck and Wisdom bonuses now scale along a piecewise linear curve, resulting in two different soft caps per stat, usually at 60 and 140. From there, scaling ends at around 850-999 depending on the stat and bonus type. This aims to create a gradual increase in power as you progress through the game.
The extra MP on level up provided by Intelligence isn't change, only the bonus spell damage.
The bonuses afforded by these skills have slightly higher possible benefits.
Status resistance: 1.2 > 1.4
Spell damage: 1.3 > 1.5
Minimum random damage range: 1.1 > 1.12
The maximum random damage range is now fixed at 1.2. Your Luck stat only determines the minimum value.
Critical hit rate is no longer capped based on level.
Minimum critical hit rate is set to 1 / 64 (roughly 1.5%).
Martial Artists now gain a small modifier to their critical hit rate upon leveling up to level 64.
Attack isn't internally capped at 850 anymore, and instead goes up to 999. Enemies maintain the 850 cap. Neat!
Ultimately, this should result in a more steady progression with these stats. You will be weaker earlier in the game, but should start to catch up towards the middle and end portions of the game, while continuing to progress into the post-game, albeit at a very slow rate.
Feedback is greatly appreciated. Balancing things is tough.
