Update 1.4

SLIDING

One major change brought with this update is the rebalanced slide, as requested by fellow players some time ago.
The slide will now ever so slightly slow you down, similar to the slide in DL1. It's not perfect, but a step in the right direction. The original slide was way too overpowered, especially when dashing. Can't quite tell the difference? Get yourself into a chase and I guarantee you will notice!

STAMINA RECOVERY
To add another layer to parkour and general movement, stamina recovery is now briefly blocked by the following moves.
Sliding, Air Kicks, Tackles and Grabs

FAR JUMP
The far jump animation has been changed with the intention of helping it to feel less janky.
Let me know if you prefer this animation or the original and I'll make changes accordingly.

JUMP LOOP 
Finally, I changed the regular jump loop animation to a more dynamic looking animation.
It makes Aiden's parkour look better without sacrificing the feel.


DESCRIPTION
DYING EDGE is designed to add more weight and thrill to Aiden's move set. Taking inspiration from other legacy movement games like Mirror's Edge, this mod intends to combine challenging (but still viable) parkour that rewards precision and planning. Many elements of the parkour have been adjusted to maintain a more consistent pace of movement and to create a more satisfying build-up when achieving peak momentum. Remember to switch your parkour mode to physical to experience the changes.





MOD FEATURES


MORE SPEED  - The following moves have been given a speed increase

  • Double Jumps
  • Wallruns
  • Mantles
  • Slope Sliding
  • Enemy Vaulting
  • Off-Balance landings (landing without pressing the Active Landing button)


SNAPPY ANIMATIONS Replaced animations for more versatile movement (New animations on the right)

  • Regular Jump Loop > Heavy Object Jump Loop
  • Double Jump > Slide Jump Loop
(Double Jumping after an Active Landing or vaulting an enemy still triggers the original Double Jump)
  • Monkey Bar Jump > Pole Jump
  • Far Jump > Unarmed Far Jump
  • Edge Hang Jump > Ladder Jump
  • Enemy Vault > Regular Vault
  • Enemy Jump Loop > Regular Jump Loop
  • Wallrun Jump Loop > Heavy Object Jump Loop


CHALLENGING PHYSICS Tougher parameters to add more difficulty

  • Air Control is DISABLED (Air Control version is also available)
  • Jumping Gravity is stronger
  • Sliding has more friction
  • Stamina Recovery is blocked by Slides, Air Kicks, Tackles & Grabs
  • Momentum takes longer to build
  • Far Jump, Afterboost and Dodging have been rebalanced
