Not quite sold on The Elder Scrolls Online? Unsure if you are going to buy it or not? Well, this video might help you decide one way or the other. And this can not be stressed enough: ESO is NOT developed by Bethesda Game Studios, but by Zenimax Online Studios.



The first video of The Elder Scrolls Online—a documentary-style introduction to the game, presented by members of The Elder Scrolls Online Development Team. This video covers the basics of ESO, including a first look at the game's Elder Scrolls-style combat system, massive PvP battles, Megaserver technology, exploration-based content, and much more.

- Personally, I find ESO very interesting! I am actually quite tired of MMOs in general, but I am hoping that this game will change that, and hopefully draw in enough players to be successful. The combat looks pretty cool, the world looks astonishing with all the Elder Scrolls details in it, so those aspects of the game looks pretty solid so far. I guess we can only wait and see how things develop further along the path to release. We will do our best to keep you updated on the game.

    ok...all of tamriel?? It has to be huge..because you all know Arena was huge, Daggerfall was HUGE, then Skyrim is..way smaller than the lore's skyrim...so I hope this game's map tto be huge... 5x - 10x skyrim maybe? It might not have the "Best graphics evah!!!" (it looks like wow or lord of the rings)...I am ok with graphics...the Mega server thing is epic..but...WHY Did they set this 1000 years before skyrim?? that's annoying (personal oppinion) but come on, we are going to play and say: Hey I remember when I kill alduin and then...oh wait it will happen in 1000 years!!! daaamn u.u hate when cool ass games appear with the "Set xxx years before xxxxxxx"... what do you think?

    I just hope that ESO doesn't kill traditional TES that we're having till now. I still want to see Bethesda do Elsweyr, Valenwood, Blackmarsh, Hammerfell and High Rock with today's technology.


    It's not actually being made by the guys who make the single player Elder Scrolls (which might be a sign that it'll suck. I certainly hope not) so I doubt it'll kill the single player games, especially with many predicting it as a flop, AND the fact that the crowd it's marketing to is slightly different.

    @katarokinimoto Bethesda aren't making this, >Zenimax Online Studios are. Bethesda are working on Fallout 4 I believe. I am personally looking forward to this knowing that it won't stop them from developing more Bethesda RPGs.

    the graphics look more cell shaded than photoesque like other MMOs, I can see a lot of people buying this just to play all of tamriel in a game only to be disappointed by immersion being dependant on WOWheads. If there was one thing worse than one-dimensional npc's a bunch of strange prepubescent basketcases would be it for me. I'm of course making a few assumptions, but still. Does bethesda not realize after skyrim's success ALL of their fanbase would buy TES set in all of tamriel in a heartbeat if it played the same way. Instead they'll waste their time with this and god help us if it sells well they might choose this over a traditional elder scrolls game. I'm ranting, I know, but I'm just sick of good things being ruined for the sake of massive sales.

    @Medicalaid the way the system works is that you tell it what you are interested in and you get sorted with like minded people in a "phase" of the mega server. It sounds like it should work quite well. Watch the vid TimBurkeulosis is referencing; it answers a fair number of questions

    What I'm concerned about is the lack of servers. I myself am a Roleplayer, and, as this game will be set in a world with POWERFUL lore and settings to draw on for roleplay, I hope that they will rethink this step in some fashion so that the types of players, such as PvPers, Raiders, etc. will at least have their own spaces to go to. Few things break immersion more than an unfriendly environment filled with griefers and such.

    I've spent years on MMO's, started with Asherons Call a few months after release, (remember that? is it still running?) plus a load of others, had a lot of fun, yes a few socially inept people but they usually get wasted in pvp later on. I've also seen buggy patches, servers down, grinding, greifing, trolling, spamming the chat etc etc, and spent hours waiting for help on a quest.
    But I've made hundreds of online friends, had an absolute blast, explored, killed, looted, and finally got out the rat race with some similar minded people then it opened up a whole new experience- much better!
    I was sceptical, another MMO, buy the game, pay every month probably, few players on my timezone, BUT now I have watched the video, I'm getting excited, this game will fill a hole left by many recent games, if it lives up to the expectations I think it will be awesome.
    So there it is, I will buy this, as soon as I can get my paws on it, I'll make some friends, avoid the grind fest, explore, and have an excellent time in a great game. Happy days

    Tbh. This is actually looking to be quite promising. And they really changed the graphical style from last I saw the game. It seems that they're really trying to work with the fans on feedback.
