Changelogs
Version 9.0
- We're back in business! Garden of Eyes released a fix for the crashes on the Souls Modding Discord and it worked! I'll pin a comment with the fix as it also works for other Torrent mods. - Brought back individual downloads
Version 8.0
- Updated to work with game version 1.09. - 1.09 causes any edits to Torrent's model to crash the game upon launching with either UXM or Mod Engine 2. This means that the horse tack can no longer be removed, and the method I used to circumvent the common_body.tpf file is also no longer viable. If this sounds familiar, that's because the exact same thing happened when 1.08 released. Please see the Disclaimers section of the Description page for more info. - We are now back to using both "chr" and "parts" folder. See Description page for side effects and installation. - There are no longer 2 options to chose from for any recolor, including Yakul. - 4/19/2023: Game version 1.09.1 has not fixed this issue.
Version 7.0
- Game version 1.08.1 resolved any issues with Torrent mods. You can disregard everything in the Version 6.0 changelog. Recolors and options are back to what they were pre-1.08. - Refer to the Description page for updated file/folder information, modding tips, and installation/uninstallation. - Since things are resolved, only the "chr" folder is used again. This mod will not affect other textures in the game. - Screenshots updated.
Version 6.0
- Updated to work with game version 1.08. - 1.08 caused any edits to Torrent's model to crash the game upon launching with either UXM or Mod Engine 2. I attempted to redo the edits on the model given with 1.08, but that also caused crashes. This means that the horse tack can no longer be removed, and the method I used to circumvent the common_body.tpf file is also no longer viable. Please see the Disclaimers section of the Description page for more info. - We are now back to using both "chr" and "parts" folder. See Description page for side effects and installation. - There are no longer 2 options to chose from for any recolor, including Yakul. - Screenshots updated.
Version 5.1
Discontinued singular downloads in favor of just an All-In-One file.
Version 5.0
- 6 new options are now available: Cremello, Leopard, Piebald, Pinto, Snowcap and Snowflake. - The other 7 have been redesigned: the dapple pattern of Torrent's vanilla textures are no longer visible. Colors now look like how I originally envisioned them. - "Sorrel" has been renamed to "Red Chestnut". - Burn marks have been removed from all options. - The "Torrent Edited Model" version of Yakul has joined the others in no longer affecting anything other than Torrent. Installation is now the same as the rest, and the "parts" folder is no longer needed. - Screenshots updated.
Version 4.0
- I am thrilled to say that this mod will no longer affect anything other than Torrent! There is one exception to this, and that's the Default (AKA Torrent Edited Model) version of Yakul. The Description/ReadMe goes into why. A huge thank you is in order for ZLOHORT, who showed me how to accomplish this. There are only minimal visual differences in the mane and tail: Bay and Sorrel have a slight change in color, and all options have very tiny hiccups that are only noticeable if you stop and examine Torrent with a magnifying glass. This update means that the "parts" folder is no longer required and has been removed from each download (except for the Yakul Default/Edited Model), now it is only the "chr" folder.
Version 3.0
I have made the decision to only make 4K textures going forward. I sincerely apologize to those who use/rely on the 2K textures, but this is something I feel I need to do. It is hundreds of textures to keep track of, extra time to upscale each one to 4K, and it takes me twice as long to unpack and repack both resolutions. I also need to free up some space on my hard drive. I love modding and will still continue making mods, but I'm spending too much time on them now in order to create both 2K and 4K. I don't want to burn myself out, either. I hope you all understand :)
Version 2.0
- 4K versions of all colors are now available! Take note that 4K textures are significantly larger and more technically demanding, and should not be used on lower end PCs or if you have frequent performance/graphical issues. Make sure that you choose the appropriate option for your game/PC! - Torrent's vanilla textures are in 1K (1024x1024). As such, there are now two versions for each recolor: 1K and 4K. - Each recolor was redesigned from the ground up, as they are now in the correct sRGB color profile. Applies to both 1K and 4K versions. - All horse tack has been recolored to black and silver. The only exception is Yakul, as that one is colored to match its source material: Red belts/reins, brown and black saddle. - Eye color has been changed from the default green. Black, sorrel and bay have brown eyes; buckskin, white and blue roan have blue eyes. Yakul has all black eyes. - All versions now have a couple options within their files. Please see the Installation section to understand them.
13 recolors for Torrent, including the saddlebags which are now black and silver. Eye color has also been changed from default green to either brown or blue, depending on the recolor. Each download has the option to have the saddlebags removed. The textures have been upscaled to 4K using Gigapixel AI, making Torrent crisper and clearer than upscaling in Photoshop.

Ray Tracing must be turned off! Using any mods that edit models like this one, with Ray Tracing on, will crash the game! There is no fix for this as what would have to change is out of my control: either Ray Tracing itself or the very tools we modders use for FromSoftware titles have to change.
I use REVENANT ReShade, specifically the Lush version with a couple tweaks of my own. This is reflected in the screenshots I took for this mod, so keep in mind that it may look differently for you if you do not use a ReShade!
I also use Texture Improvement, specifically the 4K textures. This is, again, reflected in the screenshots and so your game/recolors may look different than mine!
DO NOT attempt to play the game online while using any mods or you will be banned! Download Anti-cheat toggler and offline launcher to circumvent EAC, or if you use Mod Engine 2 then that program will automatically disable it.
Modding Tips
If this is the first time you're using this mod, I recommend quitting out of the game to install it. Otherwise, if it's not the first time or if you already have it installed, you'll be pleased to know that it can be installed while the game is running. Meaning, you can install it or change to a different recolor without having to exit the game. This comes with some caveats, however, which I will explain below:
Say you have Bay - Remove Saddlebags installed. You can safely install another option, such as White - Remove Saddlebags, as you normally would while the game is on. If you are riding Torrent when you do this, simply dismount and re-summon him to see the changes. If you're not riding him, then summoning him will also show the changes. Resting at a Site of Grace or fast traveling should also work.
The exception to this is if you are changing Torrent's model. So, if you try to switch from Bay - Remove Saddlebags to White - Keep Saddlebags, you'll see that the colors will change but the saddlebags will not appear. In this instance, you will have to quit the game in order to see those changes. General rule of thumb is that if you are not changing how the model looks, then it can be installed mid-game. If you are changing the model, then you need to quit out and install it to see the changes.
Installation
Folders in each download
All Options EXCEPT Yakul Keep Saddlebags - Torrent's default model, with no edits to the horse tack. Remove Saddlebags - Does as it's named: removes the saddlebags from Torrent, leaving the reins and saddle.
Yakul Only Edited Model - This removes a lot of excess hair from Torrent, including the tail, to try and get him as close as possible to Yakul. Also removes the saddlebags. Horse tack is recolored to match Yakul's, as well. Torrent's Model With Saddlebags - None of the previously mentioned changes are done to Torrent; he'll look like Torrent but with Yakul's coloring. Torrent's Model Without Saddlebags - This is the same as "Remove Saddlebags" from other options but with Yakul's coloring. So, none of the edits are made as seen in "Edited Model".

REVENANT Lush ReShade personal tweaks: Disable the ADOF, Chromatic Aberration, and Border.
I play on a 21:9 (3440x1440) ultrawide monitor with an NVIDIA RTX 3080. In game settings, I turned Depth of Field and Motion Blur off. For everything else I use the recommended settings from NVIDIA GeForce Experience.
