About this mod
Adds options to always play at night, automatically equip the lantern after death or teleporting, and tweaks torches for the ultimate night time experience.
- Permissions and credits
Are you tired of having to rest at a bonfire to change the time every time a night time only boss defeats you?
Can you rarely take in the breathtaking sights and scenery as they are touched by moonlight?
Or do you simply want to enjoy the massive stealth multiplier you get at night?
Then experience: Night Eternal.
Always night:
This feature keeps the game always in night time. Any action that changes the time to day immediately gets reverted. This affects
- respawn after death
- changing time at a grace
- using the memory of grace
There are two options:
- the cycle starts around dusk (hour 22) and resets close to dawn (hour 5)
- the cycle starts at midnight and ends three hours after that
Without the use of any other mods, time still passes, so there is a noticeable instant switch when the mod reverts the time.
Smart lantern:
In the base game the following actions annoyingly disable the handy lantern
- respawn after death
- any kind of teleportation or reloading
This mod adds two options to fix this:
- the lantern is automatically reequipped if you died while it was active
- the lantern is always automatically equipped, as long as it's in the player inventory
- this means the item cannot be used to disable the lantern
Torch tweaks:
- all torches can now change their Ash of War to No Skill for convenient off-handing
- the Torchpole can now change its Ash of War and can be buffed, similar to the Troll's Hammer, which is another weapon with a small amount of fire damage that can be buffed
Installation:
It's recommended to install the mod with ModEngine2.
For 'Always night' and 'Smart lantern' download their shared file and then choose which option you want by navigating down the folder structure until you find the 'event' folder. Move this folder into the mod folder of ModEngine2 and then launch the game with ModEngine2.
For 'Torch tweaks' download its file and move the regulation.bin into the mod folder of ModEngine and then launch the game with ModEngine2. Alternatively, you can also merge the changes with your other regulation.bin changes using the csv if you know how to do that.
