Changelogs
Version 1.12
Added Support for loading Elden Ring Reforged Save Files. (Use the filetype filter dropdown in the open file dialog box).
Version 1.11
Program now creates an empty default archive on first time startup instead of waiting for you to save your first archive.
It is now possible to save empty archive files.
Version 1.10
If there are unsaved edits, the "Load" and "New" button(s) now ask you if you want to save any changes made before continuing.
Version 1.09
Critical Code Update
Version 1.08
"Move up" button now properly disables itself if the save cannot be moved up any further.
Version 1.07
Bugfix: Under a very specifc case, the archive list view would not completely update itself when loading an archive. It would show only the first two characters when in reality there were more. The display would fix itself the next time you made a change to the archive list. Obviously this is not ideal, and im still not sure why the list wont update correctly on load, so an extra refresh call was added to resolve the display problem. Fixed.
Version 1.06
The list views now display the name of the file being operated on. Path information is included in the name only if the file is not in the same folder as the program.
Version 1.05
Under a very specific condition the archive "save as" button would be enabled when the archive list was emtpy. While saving and loading archives with no characters in it wouldn't break anything. It didn't make sense to allow it. Fixed.
Version 1.04
Archive "Save As" button's enabled state is no longer tied to the enabled state of the archive's "Save" button. This lets you save the current archive to a different file without having to make changes to it first.
Archive "Delete Item" button functionality was improved. Previously deleting an item would remove any selection in the archive list. Now it selects the item that takes it's place (or the one before it if it was the last item).
Version 1.03
Program now checks the ER0000.sl2 file size before saving or loading, in the event they muck with the save file in a DLC or game Update.
More exception handling to critical code areas.
Other internal code changes.
Version 1.02
With the ability to create and manage seperate archive files. The program now ensures there's always a default startup archive called EldenRingCharacterArchive.dat present.
Version 1.01
Added a "New" button to facilitate creating a seperate archive file.
Version 1.0
Program is now Feature complete. Beta Tag Removed.
Program can now be minimized.
Archive "Save As" button added.
Version 0.85-Beta
Elden Ring save files named other than the default ER0000.sl2 can now be found/loaded in the open file dialog box.
Minor issue where sometimes after loading an archive file the archive list didn't completely refresh itself until a change was made was fixed.
Version 0.84-Beta
New Feature:
Program can now accept an Elden Ring save as a command line option. This lets you set the program as the default handler for Elden Ring saves and open them anywhere by double clicking on them.
Version 0.83-Beta
Code:
Optimized the code for writing the save file for even more speed.
Removed unused image resources from the program's executable cutting the file size in half.
UI:
Made Level and Playtime columns of the list views right aligned to look nicer.
Button sizes and fonts were made slightly smaller.
Delete and Save buttons received more descriptive names, and also moved to the center of their respective list views.
Bugs:
Fixed - The Move Up & Down arrows would stay enabled after loading a save file via the Load button. This even though no item would be selected in the list view; resulting in a possible crash if clicked.
Version 0.82-Beta
Initial Testing Release
If you found the tool useful and want to buy me a beer, I won't stop you:
Warning: Backup your save game file before using: C:\Users\**USERNAME**\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing\**STEAMID**\ER0000.sl2 Description: 1. Allows you to swap/move/copy characters in and out of your save to an archive file for later retrieval. Goodbye 10 character limit. 2. Allows you to re-order your characters. 3. Allows you to swap save games or archive files with others to import into your own save game or personal archive files. 4. Will make you twice as handsome. <-- *High Five*
Install: Anywhere, but it was designed to be run from your save folder.
For best usage, place the program in the same folder as your Elden Ring save: C:\Users\**USERNAME**\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing\**STEAMID**\
Create a shortcut to it for ease of use.
Usage: Youtuber TroubleChute has created an excellent tutorial how to use this program to manage your saves and import other peoples characters. The video can be found here and is also linked on the videos tab of this page.
Note: The archive file generated by this program is not an Elden Ring save.
ATTENTION: Be careful importing other people's saves into your own if you plan to play online. Don't get banned by importing a character someone used cheat engine on (your dog will hate you, it's a fact) Use only reputable sources.
