Got some new stutter after the new patch, removed this mod and so far all seems fine again.

What, you think the mod is causing the stutter?

Could be, I had just started a new playthrough and was getting unusual stutter in the opening Limgrave section.

Tested a bunch of things, but so far the most stable solution seems to be removing this mod. I also have Elden Ring PC Stutter and Low Fps Fix applied, but removing that mod seemed to make the stutter worse if anything.

Might be some sort of confiict with the latest patch, maybe. I know before 1.14, this mod gave me no issues & is of course fantastic for stopping the whole stutter that occurs when connecting/disconnecting a controller while the game is active.

Well, that is the only stutter this mod fixes. If the stutter is still gone, and you can easily test it, then the mod is still working and any perceived increase is just confirmation bias.

So, interesting development...I only just thought to check this.

I do not have your mod installed and there is no longer any stutter for me when connecting/disconnecting the controller, while the game is running & focused.

Does this mean Fromsoft have finally fixed this issue themselves?

That would be... surprising. Let me update the game and take a look myself.

Nope, stutter is still present on my end. If you want to test it yourself, I recommend installing RTSS, enabling the OSD and to just watch the frametime spikes when plugging the controller in and out - they're very noticable. You can always tell a difference between when the mod is working and when the mod isn't working.

OK so this is still very much needed then.

Yeah something is very off with this latest patch, just feels more inconsistent than before. I've changed some things to try & help, but it just isn't as smooth as before. And to say this game was ever smooth is insane, it's just that I've got a 4090 to power through the roughness.

Just wanted to confirm I've got the game running smoothly again, and this mod was not causing the issue & I have it installed. I'm using a couple other mods (CPU affinity, high priority processes), but I think the real fix for me was disabling core parking on my CPU cores.

As soon as I did that, game was SMOOOOOOOOTH. Though I've noticed even in borderless window mode, sometimes when tab out, it messes up the frame pacing, but I think that's an issue between the game & g-sync at high frame rates.

But yeah, game is running as sweet as is possible.

holy s#*! thank you so much. been searching everywhere for a dark souls 3 stuttering fix. someone on reddit said to download this mod, rename the dll to dinput8, and put it in the ds3 folder and ill be damned it actually worked. i gave up on elden ring because of stuttering but i thought ds3 would be different, turns out it fuckin wasn't but this completely fixed it, maybe i'll go back and finish elden ring with this, too. you're doing god's work. peace.

Elden Mod loader is showing the .dll loaded in the logs but I don't get any sound on startup with either the sound and no sound file.
I only used this mod and EAC disabler with game in offline mode.

    EldenModLoader > Load delay: 5000
    EldenModLoader > Show terminal: 0
    EldenModLoader > Finding mods...
    EldenModLoader > Load orders:
    EldenModLoader > FromStutterFix = -1
    EldenModLoader > Loading .dll mods...
    EldenModLoader > Loading FromStutterFix.dll...
EldenModLoader > Loaded 1 .dll mods

To test, I installed other .dll mods and they work fine.  Vignette disabler, FPS unlocker,  etc...
To test further, I renamed the file to dinput8.dll and removed elden mod loader.  Still no sound on game startup with either mod file :(

I play the game on Steam so it's the latest version.  1.13.2

One final test, I grabbed the github version and no sound either.  :(

Where does the sound come from?
I use Nvidia sound that's built into the RTX 3070 TI video card.
Windows Sound Scheme is set to "no sound" and windows startup sound is not checked.

If it is working, it did nothing to improve the stutter that I notice while playing.
Basically, I get these dips from 60 to 55FPS.pretty regularly.  So 5FPS dips.
If I use a mod to unlock the FPS, it fluctuates wildly from 70-110 FPS every 3-5 seconds.

I have GSYNC monitor at 120HZ.  I confirmed GSYNC is engaged with the indicator you can toggle in Nvidia control panel.
Still, those wild swings are noticeable so I am better off not unlocking the FPS and leaving it at 60.
Furthermore, If I leave it unlocked and set an FPS limit above 60FPS than the dips down are more than 5FPS.

I play at 1440p but lowering to 720p and setting in game to low does nothing to improve the FPS dips.
Maximum or Low is the same performance so might as well be at Maximum settings. lol

I play with XBOX SERIES and ONE controllers using BT over WIFI antenna.   The WIFI is directly from my motherboard, not USB.
However, my keyboard, mouse, and external hardrives are wired USB.

If you disconnect / reconnect the controller during gameplay is there a noticable stutter?

does anyone know of a mod to disable achievements in elden ring? i share an account, so i play the game in steam offline mode. this is usually fine, but whenever an achievement is triggered (despite the fact that i already have them all...), the game drops to <1 FPS, and i have to restart the game.

I can try bring back support for disabling achievements, now that I know there's support for it

May you please explain how to install with mod engine 2?

I've added FromStutterFix.dll into the main modengine2 folder (same one that has all the launchmod and config files)
I've also added the following line into my eldenring_config.

    external_dlls = [
        "ertransmogrify.dll",
        "FromStutterFix.dll",
    ]

I'm not getting any sort of sound on startup so pretty sure mod is not working.

So I tried renaming file to "dinput8.dll" and dropping into main Elden Ring steam folder with launcher.
I also tried placing file into modengine2/mods with both the renamed and original file.
As a last ditch effort I tried the first method with modifying eldenring_config but used "dinput8.dll" as the filename for both the mod file and config line.
      Still no luck

Any help would be very much appreciated as noticeable stutters are an issue to an otherwise smooth gaming experience.

Put all your mods in a mods folder then add them to the config like "mods\\FromStutterFix.dll"

No, the mod doesn't produce logs, however you can test if it's working pretty easily by simply plugging in and out a device and seeing if your game stutters.
