About this mod

Adds the Crow Quills weapon as a new item. Includes the DS3 moveset and Quill Dart ash of war.

Updated to work on the DLC - last working on regulation version 1.16. Available on Ab Aeterno's Moveset Modpack.

Adds the Crow Quills from DS3 as a new weapon, including its special move as the Quill Dart ash of war. You can purchase it at the Twin Maiden Husks (under the "Special Weaponry Shop" option) in Roundtable Hold for 3500 runes (godskin peeler icon). Internal weapon ID is 5070000.

The inputs used for this weapon's attacks are akin to those in DS3: while 'two-handed' (holding fan of blades), R1 performs 1-handed attacks, and L1 does the 2H combo.
You can mix the combo sequences between R1 and L1, e.g. R1 -> L1 -> L1 would perform a normal R1 stab, followed by the triple-stab from L1, and then do the swing + stab from L1.

Ash of War: Quill Dart
Simultaneously throw temporarily substantial illusions of the four thin-edged blades wielded in the left hand.
Follow up with a heavy attack after landing to perform a lunge attack.

Note: this ash is available at Bernahl's shop for 3500 runes, which allows you to apply a different affinity to the weapon while keeping Quill Dart. However, the first part of the attack (leap + throw blades) is only available if the ash is applied specifically to Crow Quills. If applied to any other thrusting sword, only the lunge is performed.

V1.1: Improved Material
Found a different material for the weapon model that should bring its look closer to DS3's; it looks more 'silvery' and reflective.



Installation:
  • You will need ModEngine2, you can find releases & instructions here: https://github.com/soulsmods/ModEngine2
  • Download the mod. You can then either extract the 'crow_quills' folder's contents into ModEngine2's mod folder, or add the 'crow_quills' folder itself and link to it in ModEngine2's "config_eldenring.toml" file.

For modding:
  • TAEs: added a105.tae and a687.tae
  • HKX: a105 and a687 files found in c0000_a6x.anibnd.dcx
  • HKS: adds the 'HasCrowQuills' and 'HasCrowQuills1H' functions called throughout the script. You can also look for comments including 'Crow quills' to sort through the changes
  • Parts: adds a new weapon model 8018
  • Modified params: AtkParam_Pc, BehaviorParam_PC, Bullet, EquipParamGem, EquipParamWeapon, ShopLineupParam, SpEffectParam, SwordArtsParam, WepAbsorpPosParam
