Changelogs
I'm a fan of the new Light Greatsword weapon class, at least conceptually, but From Software in their infinite wisdom added 8 new weapon classes to the game in the DLC while making 2-3 weapons for each of the new classes. That is... insanely disappointing move to say the least. I also love the int/faith concept and this is basically the build I play the most (pvp included). Fromsoft added Light Greatsword class with only 3 weapons while making only one of them - Milady - infusable. I absolutely don't like what Milady looks like, the longsword without a cross guard is a crime and I refuse to use it. And I think Fromsoft made a mistake not naming this weapon class "Longsword", but I digress.

I was quickly disappointed with Milady because of the reasons above, Rellana's Twin Blades didn't satisfy me either. The only other option was Leda's Sword. Despite all the aesthetics around it hinting at it being a faith weapon (which I'd be fine with), the weapon is actually dex/faith with quite a lot of dex leaning making its severely suboptimal for faith or int/faith builds since you lose way too many stats on high dex requirements and get low damage with the faith scaling. What a shame, it's such a beautiful sword.

While I can't use any of this on vanilla game online I still decided to fix the above situation, after all I can play on Seamless Coop mod with this. I changed Leda's Sword requirements and scaling making it an actual int/faith weapon. Now the sword requires way more int/faith while lowering str/dex requirements. The int/faith requirements are quite high, but someone who specs into the build is going to have these stats even higher. The scaling was changed in such a way that both int and faith scale holy damage, base holy damage is low, but scales very well. Str and dex scale physical damage, but the scaling for it is low with most physical damage coming from the base damage. I tried to balance stats for RL125 builds.

Summary

Changes Leda's Sword to have int/faith scaling:
  • Requirements: 12 str and dex, 25 int and faith.
  • Scaling: D for str and dex, A for int and faith at +10.
  • Still a somber weapon with the max reinforcement level of +10.
  • An option to swap ash of war (removing the ash restores Needle Piercer). Swapping ashes doesn't change the weapon scaling and/or damage, only the slotted ash changes.
  • Can't be buffed with greases or spells.
  • An optional download allowing to use the weapon as a catalyst for incantations or both incantations and sorceries with the R2 input (heavy attack) same as for Carian Sorcery Sword. I wish I could make the weapon cast with ash of war input, but I can't figure out how to make that happen yet.
  • Spell scaling is close to Golden Order seal scaling for the same stats, maybe a little less.

Installation

Pick one of the files for download and extract its content inside ModEngine2 mod folder. Like this: "ModEngine2\Mods\Leda's Sword". The "Leda's Sword" folder should contain regulation.bin file and, maybe, the parts folder depending on the download you've selected. Edit your ModEngine2 launch config to enable this mod like this:
mods = [
    { enabled = true, name = "Leda's Sword", path = "Mods\\Leda's Sword" }
]

Start the game with ModEngine2. Then you either play the DLC to get the weapon or spawn it with CE.

Details
Only mixed casting mod variant contains the parts folder. By default the weapon model lacks sorcery startup visuals anchor point (like the spell sigil) making them invisible, but otherwise not breaking anything. Incantations aren't affected, only sorceries. The mod contains altered sword model with that anchor point added at the tip of the blade, no other modifications were made to the sword model. If you're using any mesh replacer for Leda's Sword, you'd have to unpack wp_a_0255.partsbnd.dcx file with WitchyBND, open WP_A_0255.flver file in FLVER Editor, add a new dummy point with refid of 181, parent bone of 1 and attach bone index of -1 and save the file (you can move the point location there as well). Then repack the parts file with WitchyBND again.

If you're using any other mod with regulation.bin you'll have to merge them or only one will be loaded. Use the provided regulation.csv file (contains all the changes made) for the merge into EquipParamWeapon.

Why not any other weapon?

I like Leda's sword look, I'm only disappointed with its stats in the vanilla game.

The second option could have been Rellana's swords. I like her Carian (right hand) sword, but the flame one (left hand) is awful. If I'd take it, I'd have to deal with the second sword always present on the character if I change the weapon into non-paired or suffer weird damage differences. Rellana's moon sword hits only with physical+magic damage while her flame sword hits only with physical+fire. The animations have the opposite weapon damage MV set to 0. If I make the weapon to have only magic or fire damage, it's either not going to work or you'd get half the damage at all times. Not worth the trouble I think.

Then there's Gazing Finger, but it barely scales with faith and is a colossal weapon, which isn't something I like to use. There's also Staff of Great Beyond, but, while cool, it's still a staff and an ugly one at that.
