So for my first real mod, welcome to Hoogy's Starting Classes & Keepsakes!
Overview:
While this mod is mostly about the new classes, it does also come with some smaller changes as well that make the mod flow better. This includes adjustments to the keepsake options, changes to weapon stat requirements, and other minor edits.
The 16 new classes:
Pugilist - A lone wanderer who knows only conquest. Upon a vow of silence, they have determined to let their fists do the talking.
Dragon Inheritor - A dragon-obsessed fiend from unknown lands. Wields katanas and a seal imbued with draconic power.
Spellblade - A travelling mercenary who is both a talented magician and steadfast duelist. Wields two peculiar thrusting swords.
Fanatic - A mongrel wannabe samurai from the west. Their mad devotion to the Land of Reeds' culture has driven them to hoard anything related to the east.
Oathsworn - A paladin of iron will, they relentlessly pursue their oath. However, by its nature, it cannot be kept. Wields great protective equipment and spells.
Ranger - A sharpshooter of once-great renown, thankful to be away from home. They wield many kinds of ranged weaponry with expertise.
Smithscript Rogue - A strange curator of smithscript armaments. Having forgotten their home long ago, they roam the Lands Between with naught but their throwing weapons.
Pureblood Knight - A former servant to Mohg who witnessed a horrifying enchantment and abandoned the Mohgwyn Palace. Without Mohg, they struggle to utilize their reaper.
Lost Hornsent - A wandering hornsent, far from their home. They roam the Lands Between spurred by a fierce desire for vengeance against the Golden Order.
Raging Bearkin - A beastly tarnished who appears to have taken "bear communion" a bit more seriously than most. They wield grisly claws, and fight fiercely.
Miquellan Knight - A knight sworn to Miquella and his Haligtree, who wields incantations of the Golden Order. They now search for new purpose.
Enchanted Knight - A knight who has embraced the power of Glintstone, facing enemies in melee combat while simultaneously casting spells.
Regal Swordsman - A high page, very nearly made a noble before the exile of all tarnished. They wield with grace their two light greatswords.
Exile Warrior - A tarnished formerly hiding amongst exiled soldiers. Discovered, and subsequently banished, they smuggled away with them many different armaments.
Bloody Wolf - A raging wolf, cunning, steadfast, and deadly. They are a warrior without fear, and they face their death with unmatched vigor and pride.
False Lord - A contender for Elden Lord in times past, having fallen far from grace. Wields the Flame of Frenzy.
The new keepsake lineup:
Blessing of Marika - A special physick blessed by Marika. Completely restores HP and heals all ailments. They are quite scarce, and found only in the Land of Shadow.
Smithing-Stone Miner's Bell Bearing - A bell bearing once held by a miner. Grants the purchase of Smithing Stone (1), Smithing Stone (2), and Glintstone Scrap.
Gold Horn Tenders - Old currency used by the hornsent. Boosts the amount of runes obtained from defeating enemies by 40% for three minutes.
Cleanrot Knight Finlay - The ashes of a legendary cleanrot knight. Ashes are said to hold spirits within.
Blessed Blue Dew Talisman - A talisman depicting the blessed boon that is a droplet of the blue, luminescent sap of the Erdtree. Slowly restores FP.
Stonesword Keys - Five stone keys shaped like swords. Breaks the seal on imp statues, but can only be used once.
Bewitching Branches - Ten sacred branches charged with beguiling power. Said to originate from the demigod Miquella.
Boiled Crabs - Ten pieces of boiled crab. They boost physical damage negation.
Daedicar's Woe - The disturbing likeness of a woman whose skin was flayed. This cruel joke of a talisman doubles the damage the wearer receives.
Remembrances - All Remembrances are also each selectable as a keepsake for those who want to acquire a particular boss item early. (You still need to kill one Shardbearer to unlock Enia.)
Miscellaneous changes:
- All starting classes (not just the custom ones) now start out with a talisman equipped.
- Players start the game with two talisman slots available instead of just one.
- Margit, who usually drops the first talisman pouch, now drops a Golden Seed instead.
- Cleanrot Knight Finlay has been slightly buffed.
- A small handful of starting weapons have had their stat requirements reduced. The Glintstone Staff and Finger Seal have had their stat requirements removed entirely.
- The Twin Maiden Husks now sell a Glintstone Staff alongside their normal wares. This is to improve build variety in the early game by making a low-level staff just as easily available as a low-level seal.
Disclaimers:
DO NOT PLAY ONLINE with this mod. Either use Offline Mode or play with Seamless Coop.
- I recommend beating the game at least once before playing this mod, as it is not quite designed with balance in mind. There are several classes that start out much stronger than others, and this may make the game a little too easy early on. Because of this, the mod was intended mostly for people who are already familiar with the game, for whom the early stages are not a challenge anymore.
- This mod is likely incompatible with many other mods that change the regulation.bin file, especially ones that also alter the class lineup.
- This mod was intended to be played with the Seamless Coop mod, but can also be played without.
- This mod was initially made alongside many larger miscellaneous changes, most of which should now be removed in order to
focus on the new classes and keepsakes. If there are any changes with the game that I did not describe here, please let me know so I can look into it.
Known issues include:
- The custom classes do not have their own icons. As of the initial upload of this mod, I do not yet know how to implement
custom class icons without replacing the ones we have in-game. For now, the new classes will just have to keep using the Wretch's class image. - Cleanrot Knight Finlay's buffs have not been extensively tested as of the initial upload of this mod. We will just have to keep a close eye on her for now.
Install:
When using Mod Engine, simply take the "mod" folder in the zip file, and place it in the "Mod Engine" folder.
The end result should be that the contents of the zip file's "mod" foldier should now all be inside Mod Engine's "mod" folder.
DO NOT put the Starting Classes "mod" folder itself inside of Mod engine's "mod" folder. They are meant to be the same folder. Just combine them.

Install with Seamless Coop:
Once you have combined the "mod" folder from my mod with Mod Engine's "mod" folder, you then put the Seamless Coop files next to (not inside of) the "mod" folder. This includes both the .dll and the .ini files.
Next, change the text in "config_eldenring.toml" to make it run Seamless Coop's .dll file. (At the time of writing, it is called "ersc.dll")
The folder and text file should look like these when you are done.
