About this mod
Replaces the Bonny Butchering Knife with a fully custom hornsent-themed cleaver. There is a tan version and a grey version to choose from.
- Permissions and credits
It affects the normal butchering knife as well, and will be visible on phantoms and enemies such as the bonny potentates.
There's two versions to choose from, a tan-colored one and a grey one, so you can match it with your armors of choice.
If you want this mod to replace a different weapon, just rename the file to anything from this list.
It will work even if you choose something other than a greataxe.
----------
Version 1.1:
The spiral comprising the spine of the weapon now has a rougher, horn-like look, rather than looking metallic.
Added a gap between the blade and the spine of the weapon, they're no longer melded into each other.
And the symbol embossed on the blade is now identical to the one on the lids of hornsent corpse jars.

Extract the .rar file you downloaded. It contains a "parts" folder, and inside it are the .dcx files of the mod.
Drop the "parts" folder inside Mod Engine 2's "mod" folder. If there's already a "parts" folder from another mod in there, you can also drop the .dcx files directly into it.
DESIGN STUFF:
Wasn't very fond of the bonny knife being just a clone of the butchering knife. Especially because the hornsent have such a unique, well-defined aesthetic to the stuff they use, and this is supposed to be a sacred tool used in religious practices so hardcore that the hornsent got themselves killed over them. Imagine if aztec priests sacrificed people with old kitchen knives instead of obsidian blades.
I tossed practically every motif the hornsent have into this weapon. It's got horns entwined into a spiral to make the spine of the weapon, the icon from hornsent jars embossed into the blade and the hilt, and I copied some of the carvings from the horned warrior's greatsword onto it as well. The color is specifically intended to match the dull gold of the horned warrior armors, but I added a steel colored version in case you have different ideas.
I placed the secondary handle so your character would grasp it when doing the smashy heavy attacks, and I also tweaked the dummies so the sparkly effect from the weapon skill fits the new shape better. It's not a perfect match, but you'd need to turn your camera and stare at it for 10 seconds before you get a sparkle that's out of place.
This is the first mod that I made entirely from scratch, models, textures and all. I usually just tweak existing gear. Let me know if you like it.
