Optional: With other mods
Installing with Seamless Co-op
Follow Using Seamless Coop with other mods. As of version 1.1.0, dyes are visible to other players as long as they also have the mod installed. This mod doesn't impact matchmaking, so you can still co-op with or invade people who don't have it installed.
Installing with The Convergence
Update: This mod is shipped by default with The Convergence version 2.1.2, so you don't need to do anything to install it. Armor dyes are accessible at sites of grace by default.
Installing with Reforged
Update: The underlying dye system is integrated into ELDEN RING: Reforged version 1.2.3, so you don't need to install this. Palettes can be unlocked by completing archery challenges.
Installing with anything else
This mod should simply work with any other mods installed without any manual merging required. Feel free to comment if you discover a compatibility issue with another mod.
Installing on Steam Deck
This also works on Steam Deck, but instead of running launchmod_eldenring.bat you need to launch through Steam. See How to install Elden Ring mods on Steam Deck.

- Rest at a Site of Grace
- Choose "Apply dyes"
- Select "Primary color". Hover over colors to preview them on your character, then select the one you want to apply the dye to your equipment.

To adjust the intensity for each color, select "Primary intensity", "Secondary intensity", or "Tertiary intensity" on the dye menu. High intensity helps dyes show up on dark textured equipment, while moderate intensity is more subtle and realistic.

Optional: Adding custom colors
To add more color choices, open erdyes.ini and add new names and hex codes to the end of the file, like so. After saving the file and restarting the game, your custom dye colors will show up in the menu.
If you're not sure now to choose a hex code, you can use this color picker.

Limitations
Incompatible items
The majority of armor and weapons work surprisingly well considering they aren't designed with dyes in mind, but be aware that some use custom shaders that can't be dyed, including: St. Trina's Blossom, Greathood, Haima Glintstone Crown, Scarabs, Envoy Crown, Traveler’s Clothes, Aristocrat Garb, Queen’s Robe, Noble's Traveling Garb, Leda’s Armor. Dyes simply do nothing to these items or significant parts of them.
It may be possible to update the mod to support these, or to make "dye-compatible" versions.
Cutscenes and menus
Dyes don't appear in cutscenes, or in character previews such as the "Load" menu.
Localization
The mod should work with any language selected, although many messages aren't actually translated from English. Please let me know if you'd like to contribute or fix a translation in your local language!

Mod by Tom Clark. Special thanks to:
