Details and Notes:
Invulnerability:
Take no damage, this works on all forms of damage from enemies, traps or the environment. Stand in lava, sit in a fire, afk in a boss fight...
Note: There is only one type of damage I have found that will affect you and that is bloodflame HP drain effect some enemies in Caelid can inflict you with if they set you on fire. That won't be able to kill you though because of your healing factor (more on that below).
Status Effects:
Become immune to all status effects like poison, rot, blight... etc
Poise:
Whether you are attacking, moving, or standing still, virtually nothing in this game will be able to push you, interrupt you, or stagger you in any way. This works for environmental traps as well, giant balls and chariots for example.
Note #1: This will not prevent you from being grabbed by enemy grab attacks such as the Abductor Virgins' grab.
Note #2: Doesn't work while on horseback, check: Torrent the Tank
Hardness:
Your skin will also gain low tier hardness, causing bolts, arrows, and attacks from small weapons to bounce off you completely.
HP regen:
In the unlikely scenario that you lose some HP, a secondary effect will be triggered and immediately start healing you back up to full health. Once you're back to 100% the effect will then be turned off until you lose HP again... etc.
Stamina consumption:
Attacks of any kind will not consume any stamina, this goes for skills & spells as well. In addition blocking with any weapon or shield will also not consume any stamina.
Note: Dodge rolls, and jumps while in combat will still consume stamina.
FP consumption:
Nothing you do will ever consume FP, this goes for spells, skills, summoning, and special items.
Fall damage:
Take no fall damage when jumping from any height, this also works when falling from extreme heights (instant-death distance).
This works both on foot and on horseback.
Note: There are only two cases you might die from a fall that this mod doesn't change:
(1) kill boxes, these are invisible barriers put by devs in spots you're not meant to jump through and are scripted to kill you if you fall through them, you'll die mid-air not after landing, I find these to be much rarer in Elden ring as opposed to Dark Souls. If a jump looks like it'll take you to an inaccessible location or to a different map it'll probably kill you.
(2) if you fall for too long the game is scripted to kill you, this is only the case really if you fall through the map because of a glitch.
Rune recovery:
As long as a great rune is active, if you die you will not lose your runes, they will still be on you when you revive, you don't need to do anything to recover them.
Undead enemies:
If you kill an undead enemy with any weapon\spell it will not resurrect back to life. (doesn't apply if something else kills them)
Invisible Enemies:
You will now be able to see invisible enemies like Black Knife Assassins.
PVE Invasions:
Be careful because Great Rune effects are temporarily disabled whenever you invade, this actually applies to NPC invasions as well when playing offline not just PVP, so if you're doing a quest that requires you to invade an npc to kill it, you'll become a regular mortal again until you return. (Basically if your character is all red, you can die!)
PVE Invasions: (Update!)
Now if you have Mohg's Great Rune equipped and you invade an NPC you will still have full Invulnerability, Immunity, unbreakable Poise, and no Stamina or FP consumption.
Note #1: A different status icon appear in place of the ones normally active. This should indicate that the effect is taking place and you're safe from damage. The icon is the same used by Purifying Crystal Tear effect (a red sphere)
Note #2: This will not work when invaded at the Roundtable Hold by Ensha (the Edgelord) after acquiring one of the secret medallion halves.
Note #3: This was tested on Varre's quest invasion as a Bloody Finger, and Volcano Manor invasions as a Recusant.
Red Phantom Effect:
Normally when you invade you will look like a Red Phantom, now Mohg's Great Rune will also remove this effect.
Spirit Summons:
Normally this mod will not affect any of your spirit summons, even Mimic Tear because it doesn't copy your equipped Great rune. If you want your spirit summons to also be invulnerable then activate Mohg's Great Rune. With Mohg's great rune equipped and active any spirit your summon will have most of the perks previously mentioned (Invulnerability, Immunity, Unbreakable poise... etc)
Spirit Color:
Now Mohg's Great Rune will also remove the Blue Color effect from your Spirit Summons.
Become Invisible when a Spirit summon is active:
Optional: When using Mohg's Great Rune, once you summon a Spirit summon, not only it will get the benefits mentioned above, but you will also automatically become invisible to enemies. Could be good if you're trying to test something or make a video, or if you just want to stand back and watch you summon do all the work. Once the summon goes away you will lose your invisibility.
Auto-activate Great Rune effect:
Whenever you die, as soon as you respawn your equipped Great Rune will now re-activate automatically with no need to use a Rune Arc to activate it manually. This isn't exclusive to just dying though, if for any reason your Great Rune is inactive, then it will re-active automatically on your next spawn (triggered by opening the game, or fast traveling)
Rune Arc:
If you do not have a Great Rune equipped at all, you will still get some of the main benefits, specifically: Invulnerability to damage, Immunity to status effects, No Fall Damage, Unbreakable Poise, and no Stamina or FP consumption. You will notably be missing
Mimic Tear:
The Mimic Tear boss doesn't mimic your equipped great rune, meaning that while you will be invulnerable, it will not be, so you don't need to worry about unequipping your rune before the boss fight or anything.
Original great rune effect:
For the most part I didn't remove the original effect of each great rune, so Godrick's great rune will still increase all attributes by 5. Radahn's Great Rune will increase HP, FP & Stamina by 15% and Morgott's Great Rune will increase your HP by 25%. The only ones I changed were Mohg's and Malenia's.
UI:
If you want to confirm that all mod effects are working appropriately, once you activate a great rune look below your stamina bar and a few new icons should appear.
- An HP icon means HP regen will activate if you lose health.
- An armor buff icon means your invulnerability and immunity are in effect.
- A poise buff icon means you have unbreakable poise.
- A shield icon means you have infinite guard stamina.
- A cat icon means you're immune to fall damage.
- A twig icon means you won't lose your runes upon death.
- If you invade an NPC all status icons will be removed and instead you will see a red sphere icon.
Mod options:
If you don't want all great runes to be like this I've made a few options you can choose from. Godrick only, Mohg only, or Malenia only.
Installation Methods:
1 - Copy regulation.bin file into your Elden Ring\Game folder and replace the existing file. (Make a back up first)
2 - Alternatively: Use Mod Engine 2 and copy regulation.bin into Elden Ring\Game\mod folder.
3 - Alternatively: Use import Csv option in Smithbox to modify your own regulation.bin.
