- Let's you choose between Jespar or Calia as your end-game companion, if you romanced neither. No more affinity system picking for you. This is integrated naturally into the game via messagebox, taking example from other critical moments in the vanilla game. Basically, it shouldn't stand out as a mod-added feature.
- Modifies the dialogue option that locks you into one romance option in the "how do you feel about ___?" dialogue, making it clearer that you're alluding to romantic feelings. The romance answer has been changed from "I can't say yet." to "I can't say yet, but I think there's something there."
- Prioritizes closure for Part IV of Jespar's questline (Every Day Like The Last), regardless of affinity. As this dialogue takes place during a scene where either Calia or Jespar show up, depending on who has the greater affinity with you, you can miss a big chunk of Jespar's character development. I find this especially an odd choice since you don't miss character development if you miss Calia's dialogue. If you haven't finished Part IV of Jespar's personal questline prior to this moment, Calia will show up as her dialogue is much more story-neutral.
What this does not do:
- Let you romance the character you locked out in the "how do you feel about ___?" dialogue. So if you told Jespar that you are just friends with Calia, you will stay just friends with Calia.
- Let you choose a different end-game companion if you initiated a romance. For example, if you romance Calia, Calia will be your end-game companion, you will not get an option to have Jespar instead. I don't feel like figuring out how to script and rewrite that complicated scenario and hopefully you like your romance option enough to actually want to have them as your companion.
Compatibility:
Vanilla records modified by this mod:
- Two scripts (_00e_mq12c_functions and _00e_mq13b_functions)
- One quest (MQ13b)
- One scene (MQ13b_SC04_CitadelGate)
- 1 dialog topic during MQ12c
- 6 dialog topics during MQ13b_SC04_CitadelGate
I doubt these records are touched by many mods, honestly, but please let me know if you find incompatibilities. I will consider making patches as time and motivation allow. If anything overwrites this mod in your mod manager or overwrites the .esp in xEdit, the mod will not function correctly. Aside from that, it should be fairly compatible.
Known Issues:
None.
I haven't been able to extensively test as I don't have a save game that far into the main quest. However, I tested as best I could by cheating myself to that part of the story. If you notice any bugs that are directly related, as in they take place during Black Light, Part III or Forgotten Homeland, Part II, please let me know in the Bugs tab with as much information as you can.
