Description

A new merchant, Jimmy Morgan, has set up shop at the riverboat landing. He sells items imported from Point Lookout. This is mainly useful for saving yourself a trip down the river to purchase weapons unique to that area to use for repairs. It also seemed appropriate for an enterprising trader to establish himself on the dock for trading with travelers.

Jimmy will wander in a small area (I didn't want him falling in the water), sit in his chair from time to time, and engage in standard conversation. There is no new dialog or story. He is so eager for business, you'll never catch him sleeping (I didn't think it was necessary to set up a sleep cycle for such a minor character -- he probably catches a nap when you're not around). I flagged him as Essential so that he couldn't fall prey to the mirelurks in the area, so leave the nice trader alone.

I designed this mod to be minimally intrusive. It does not replace or alter existing content, except for the small amount of space on the dock that the vendor and his table and chair occupy. I placed Jimmy so that it looks as if he owns the 3 metal boxes that already existed in his little corner, but they are unmodified and you can still loot them. I assigned him a low repair skill and the "small" merchant cash pool (equivalent to a bartender's) so as not to unbalance the game -- beyond saving the trip to Point Lookout for supplies of course. If you want a crackerjack repairman or a major source of caps, there are other mods for that. This mod just does one thing.

Requirements

Point Lookout expansion.

Installation

Copy the ESP file into your game's Data folder.

Uninstall

Delete the ESP file from your game's Data folder.

Compatibility

This mod does not replace or alter existing content. There will be spatial conflicts if you have another mod installed that places objects on that corner of the dock.

Known Issues or Bugs

Jimmy uses the standard wasteland scavenger dialog, so he will sometimes utter the line about preferring to sell to you than having to haul his goods back to Megaton.
