Travellers from across the country have followed their old enemies the Brotherhood of Steel to the Capital Wasteland! Seeing hope for the redemption of the Master's dream in the new population of Super Mutants, a few ragtag remnants of the Children of the Cathedral approach one isolated camp in hopes of making contact. Instead, the Super Mutants bludgeon the High Priest and his two assistants to death and toss their carcasses aside for later munching. Alas!
Very simply put, this mod adds two new clothing items to the Capital Wasteland, Children of the Cathedral Robes and Children of the Cathedral High Priest Robes. These are based on the fabulous purple garments worn by, gasp!, the Children of the Cathedral in Fallout 1.
These new vestments are retextures of the Brotherhood Scribe Robe and Elder Lyon's Robe respectively, except, well, they're a bright shade of purple. Also, I have made use of Ryu Doppler's excellent conversion of Elder Lyon's Robe such that it has function Pipboy Pieces and a female variant. His original can be found here:
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6307
So go there and give him your praise for doing all the heavy lifting.
They can be repaired using BOS Scribe robes or other Purple Robes.
I know they're a little different from the flowing purple hooded robe displayed in Fallout 1, but since the BoS Elder and Scribe robes in that game were exactly the same except for being blue and maroon, that it would be reasonable that a Fallout 3 version of the CoC robes would be similarly different. To each his own taste, however!

The robes can be found off to the side in a mutant camp along the northern border of downtown DC, near to the Plunger Sewers. Please examine the screenshot for a precise location, or you can type "COC FFSuperMutantCamp02" into the console to be immediately magically transported there.
The console codes are:
XX000EAA - High Priest Robe
XX000EA9 - Children of the Cathedral Robe
XX being the ESPs location within the load order, of course.

Unzip the contents of the ZIP to your Fallout3/Data directory. Make sure the Mesh and Textures folders end up in their proper locations.
There are actually two .ESP versions included:
PurpleRobes.esp
PurpleRobesDisguise.esp
The disguise esp will make the Robes and High Priest Robes function just like the Ghoul Mask, but on Super Mutants. I know, I know, it doesn't make any sense for the Capital Wasteland Mutants to ally with Children of the Cathedral, but I thought I'd throw it in as a fun little extra anyway. After all, you don't have to use it, and it is rather amusing to walk amongst the uglies.
How ever you feel about it, make sure to only activate ONE of of the ESPs. Both will cause unfortunate side effects, like having twice as many purple robes, only half of which function as disguises, most likely.

Remove whichever ESP you decided to use and delete the "Pax" subfolder under both Meshes and Textures.
Voila!

You can pretty much do what you want with this; I don't really care. Making a Fallout 1 -> Fallout 3 Total Conversation and want some purple robes to go with it? Fine and dandy! Use away!
The only real caveat is that you have to make sure to credit Ryu Doppler's work on the Elder Lyons Robe.
That and I'd at least like a head's up and a mention in the readme if you do use the robe. :)
