Again with the Lovecraftian touches in Fallout...

Julie boppin about, checking out  an opened tomb. One big egg on what looked like a low, circular alter, then comes the looming unworldly shape in the doorway.

Just a Mirelurk King, but at that partucular moment it was something out of space... As an encounter no huge deal, but the moment... perfect eldritch horror to spin and see that thing in the door...

    Yeah Beth did add some interesting touches of horror to the game, and the mirelurk kings are straight out of Lovecraft as far as I'm concerned. Creepy buggers.

      Yup, all it needed to be perfectly Lovecraftian was for the encounter to take place at night.

      Oddly I expected an attack after the first time I played the game and got attacked by a psychotic bandit while I was looking around in another crypt. Used to think it was an encounter trigger to do the tomb robber gig...
